Trade maintains growth

In the first 6 months of 2023, the commodity market situation in Dak Nong province was relatively stable, meeting people's shopping needs. The quantity of goods serving the holidays and Tet was abundant, diverse in types, designs and guaranteed quality. The supply of petroleum products was adequate, the prices of most items tended to increase/decrease intertwined with the domestic and world situation, however the difference was not significant.

Promote consumption of Dak Nong's strong products

Statistics of Dak Nong Department of Industry and Trade show that the total retail sales of goods and service revenue in the province in the first 6 months of 2023 is estimated at 11,550 billion VND, an increase of 18.6% over the same period in 2022, reaching 54.38% of the 2021 plan (21,241 billion VND). Of which, commerce is estimated at 8,227 billion VND, an increase of 6.4%; Accommodation and catering is estimated at 2,812 billion VND, an increase of 68.6%; Tourism revenue is estimated at 0.81 billion VND, an increase of 80%; Other services are estimated at 511 billion VND, an increase of 51.6%.

To maintain domestic market growth in Dak Nong province, the Dak Mil Trade Center Project in Dak Mil district with a total investment of 645 billion VND and an area of ​​7,526.5 m2 is continuing to be implemented, expected to be completed by the end of 2023. In addition, the Gia Nghia Market Project has completed and put into operation phase 1.

Currently, in Dak Nong province, there are 46 markets distributed in 42 communes, wards and towns; 01 Kien Duc Trade Center, Dak R'Lap district, completed phase 1, implementing phase 2; 01 Class II supermarket in Gia Nghia city; 01 complex center, Cu Jut district; over 10,000 commercial establishments (grocery stores, convenience stores...). The whole province also has 245 petrol stations and over 260 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stores in operation, widely distributed, ensuring adequate and safe supply for production and consumption, meeting the requirements of socio -economic development and national security and defense in the province.

Regarding the import-export situation, the export turnover in the first 6 months of 2023 is expected to reach 572 million USD, an increase of 8.1% over the same period last year, reaching 45% of the plan (plan 1,271 million USD). The province's main export items such as coffee, cashew, peanuts, MDF boards estimated at 11 million USD all have significant export growth.

Regarding imports, import turnover in the first 6 months of 2023 is expected to reach 124 million USD, down 8% over the same period last year, reaching 49.6% of the plan.

Promote trade promotion solutions

To maintain trade growth in Dak Nong province, the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Nong has advised the Provincial People's Committee to deploy many trade promotion programs. Accordingly, the National Trade Promotion Program in 2023 has been approved with a budget of 1,000 million VND to implement the Project to organize the Central Highlands - Dak Nong Industry and Trade Fair 2023, from June 30, 2023 to July 5, 2023 in Gia Nghia city, Dak Nong province. Currently, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion is carrying out procedures and contents to prepare to organize the Conference as planned.

In addition, the Local Trade Promotion Plan for 2023 was approved with a total budget of 750 million VND from the local budget to implement 5 projects. Up to now, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has completed 2 projects: organizing delegations to participate in fairs in provinces and cities in the Central Highlands; organizing delegations to participate in fairs in the Northern provinces.

As a result, at the fair, 4 businesses signed agreements with 4 partners to consume Cocoa, Macadamia, and Cashew products. For the remaining 3 projects, the Center is developing a detailed plan to coordinate with agencies and organizations for implementation.

The Department of Industry and Trade also announced and encouraged production and business enterprises in Dak Nong province to register to participate in trade connection conferences and fairs at home and abroad. At the same time, it organized a delegation of provincial businesses to participate in the exhibition fair in Mondulkiri province - Cambodia, from April 14, 2023 to April 17, 2023, in Sen Monorom city, Mondulkiri province, Cambodia.
