Zidane is set to take part in the "Universe Football" project at the Orange Velodrome, home of Olympique Marseille, the city where he was born and raised. This is a special family project, expected to bring together famous football stars and famous people in a spectacular charity match.

The official website of Universe Football revealed that the event will be the "third edition" of the series that took place in 2022 and 2023, with the participation of former players such as Franck Ribery, Samir Nasri, Djibril Cisse and Zidane's three sons - Theo, Elyaz and Luca. Zidane participated in the previous two editions, but this will be his first return to the field since the fundraising match in March 2024.

For Zidane, the match meant a lot. Although he never played for Marseille, Zidane was always a son of the port city. He once said: "When I was a child, I used to go to the stadium with my friends, sitting in the Virage Nord stands, right under the scoreboard. I saw my idols playing. At that time, I was a Marseille fan, and until now, I am still as passionate about Marseille as ever."
