Due to the complicated developments of Tra Mi storm, the Department requires airlines to coordinate closely with the Weather Warning Center (MWO) to regularly update information on rain and storms. In case of needing to adjust flight schedules, fly early, or make-up flights to relieve passengers, please report immediately to the Department for timely handling.

“Airlines must notify passengers about storms so they can proactively arrange their schedules accordingly,” the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam directed.

Three airports located in the storm-affected area, including Phu Bai, Da Nang , and Chu Lai, need to immediately deploy plans to prevent rain, storms, flooding, and clear the flow of water in the port to minimize damage.

The storm is not expected to be of high intensity, however, heavy rains will occur, which can easily cause local flooding. Therefore, the Department requires airports to have plans to raise and position equipment in the airport and passenger terminals, and regularly check the condition of equipment to have a solution to ensure that operations are not interrupted.
