According to initial statistics, the storm swept through 4 hamlets: Cau Ong Bui, Cau Duc, An Tap and Hoi Xuan. As of 6 p.m. the same day, 14 households had their roofs blown off, with total property damage estimated at about 47 million VND.
Many households are still in shock after the fierce storm. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Le Thuy, living in Cau Duc hamlet, recounted in a choked voice: “I was chopping wood in the yard when I heard a loud noise. I looked up and saw water hyacinth and tree branches being swept away by the storm. It was so fast! I ran inside and the kitchen had collapsed. When I went upstairs, the roof was also blown off. Luckily, I was not injured.”
Mrs. Thuy's kitchen was devastated after the tornado.
Faced with that situation, the commune militia force was promptly mobilized to support the people. Commander of the Commune Military Command Nguyen Hoang Loc said: "As soon as we received the information, we mobilized forces to the scene, coordinated with the people to clean up the tiled roofs and fallen trees. Some households were supported to re-roof their houses so that their lives could soon stabilize."
