45 years of friendship between three districts of Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong

The twinning relationship between Hoan Kiem District ( Hanoi ) - District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) - Hong Bang District (Hai Phong City) was officially established in 1979. This is an important milestone showing the kinship between the localities after many years of temporary separation between the North and South due to war.

On August 2, in Ho Chi Minh City, a program took place to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the twinning between Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi) - District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) - Hong Bang District ( Hai Phong City).

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Thi Tuyen, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of Public Security, former Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, former Secretary of the Hong Bang District Party Committee; To Thi Bich Chau, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Kim Yen, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, former Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 1; Pham Thanh Kien, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, former Chairman of the District 1 People's Committee; Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee and delegates who are leaders and former leaders of District 1, Hoan Kiem District and Hong Bang District through the periods.

Reviewing the history of the three districts' twinning relationship, District 1 Party Secretary Duong Anh Duc said that the twinning relationship between the three districts was officially established in 1979. Over the past 45 years, the three districts have successfully implemented the objectives, requirements, contents and principles agreed upon at the initial signing ceremony. Many activities in the spirit of twinning have achieved certain results. The districts have supported each other in building a number of outstanding projects.

The leaders of the three districts also always pay attention to innovating Party building activities, state management work and activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; have exchanged many experiences in Party member management, pilot models in land management, urban order, etc.

During the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City, District 1 received attention, encouragement, and sharing both materially and spiritually from the whole country, including Hoan Kiem and Hong Bang districts.

District 1 Party Secretary Duong Anh Duc affirmed that the good feelings, friendship and closeness of the leaders of the three districts have created a spread and are also the basis for the sectors and units of the three localities to establish exchange and twinning relationships.

At the ceremony, representatives of Hoan Kiem and Hong Bang districts also introduced the bright spots of their localities in the development process. Witnessing the good relationship of the three districts over the past 45 years, former Secretary of the Hoan Kiem District Party Committee Nguyen Tien Thang hoped that the localities would continue to unite and support each other in activities, especially in supporting each other in training cadres of the three districts who are beautiful in culture, high in intelligence, and deep in affection.
