Mr. Trump keeps documents on military and nuclear
The documents kept at Mr. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida include information on U.S. defense and weapons capabilities at home and abroad, U.S. nuclear programs, U.S. vulnerabilities to military attack and possible retaliation plans in response to foreign attacks.

Mr. Trump shared confidential information with others
In a July 2021 conversation with a writer at the Bedminster Club in New Jersey, Mr. Trump allegedly described an “attack plan” against another country that a military official had proposed in a classified document. Mr. Trump said the information was “highly classified” and that he could have declassified it as president. The exchange was recorded, according to the indictment.
During a meeting later that year in Bedminster, Mr. Trump allegedly showed a representative of his political action committee a classified map of another country while discussing an ongoing military operation there.
Mr. Trump asked his assistant to hide the document.
After receiving a subpoena in May 2022 demanding he produce all classified documents in his possession, Mr. Trump allegedly directed his aide Walt Nauta to move 64 boxes of documents from a storage room at Mar-a-Lago to his residence.
Mr. Trump kept documents in the bathroom.

Mr. Trump is aware of his responsibility.
The indictment includes statements Mr. Trump made during his campaign and presidency that show he understood the importance of handling classified material appropriately.
"In my administration, I will enforce all laws related to protecting classified information," Mr. Trump said during the 2016 campaign. "No one is above the law."
