8,000 athletes compete in VnExpress Marathon Hue season 4

Thousands of VM Hue athletes began their journey to conquer the innovative race track and enjoy the beauty of the ancient capital, from 3am on April 21.

VnExpress Marathon Hue 2024 started at 3am on April 21st at Le Duan Street, near Phu Van Lau. This is the fourth time the tournament has come to the ancient capital, attracting 8,000 athletes. On the main road running along the poetic Huong River, the 42km runners started the earliest, at 3am. The 21km distance started at 4am; 10km at 4:45am and 5km at 5am.

This is one of the most important and biggest sporting events in Thua Thien - Hue province. To attract the community, the race has completely renewed the route with the highlight being the route towards Dap Da bridge - connecting the bustling downtown area with the peaceful Vy Da ward. Runners participating in VM Hue can enjoy a variety of amenities. Along the race course, there are 21 water stations with filtered water, electrolytes, bananas, watermelons, ice, etc. The distance between each station is from 1.5 - 2.5 km. 51 doctors and nurses from the Thua Thien - Hue 115 Emergency Center will ensure the health safety of runners when they are placed in 10 fixed medical stations and 6 mobile stations.
