See patients as relatives
Like other medical staff, medical technician Le Thi Hong Nhung, Department of Pediatric Rehabilitation (Da Nang City Rehabilitation Hospital) is always trusted and loved by patients and their families. With more than 12 years of work, Ms. Nhung has intervened and cared for hundreds of children with syndromes such as: autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, language development disorder, mental retardation, motor development delay...
Every day, she has to witness the abnormal behavior of the sick children: screaming, banging their heads, scratching…; crying is a typical sound in the department day and night; even the smell of urine and vomit from children is not strange. Witnessing the disabilities of children and the difficulties that young parents have to go through every day with their children, Ms. Nhung has more sympathy and understanding for the sick children's families.
That is also the reason why she wants to stay with the hospital, wants to contribute part of her strength to accompany the family and the sick children on the path to help the children reintegrate into the community, even though many colleagues cannot stand the pressure of work and psychological pressure and choose to leave.
Ms. Nhung shared: “Working at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department, we often come into contact with children who suffer from a lot of physical and mental pain, so we are always as caring as a mother or relative to young patients.”
Working in a highly infectious environment, head nurse Vu Thi Thanh Tam, Department of Internal Medicine I ( Da Nang Lung Hospital) always excellently completes assigned tasks.
She is attentive in caring for and encouraging patients, not afraid of contagious diseases, and is wholeheartedly loved by patients. Every day she comes into contact with patients with tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis, which are highly contagious, but she always works with an exemplary spirit, closeness, and caution.
According to the leaders of Da Nang Lung Hospital, nurse Vu Thi Thanh Tam always has a spirit of volunteering in her work, is not afraid of difficult tasks, and strives to complete her tasks well. In particular, nurse Tam is always attentive and dedicated to her patients. She also handles situations well when consulting on care regimens and educating health for tuberculosis patients so that patients and their families can understand and feel secure in their treatment.
Sharing with patients
Working in the hematology - blood transfusion department, realizing the urgency and importance of providing blood and platelets in a timely manner to patients, medical technician Ho Phu, Department of Testing (Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital) actively and proactively participated in voluntary blood donation, especially in emergency situations to promptly save patients from critical condition. He has donated blood more than 20 times to save lives.
According to the leader of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, in addition to his personal contributions, Mr. Phu also actively mobilized and called on volunteers to donate blood and platelets in emergency cases; thereby spreading the humanitarian value of donating blood to save lives in the community. In addition, Mr. Phu is also a core member of the mobile sampling team under the command of the Department of Health.
Like Mr. Ho Phu, Chief Medical Technician Ho Ngoc Duong, Department of Blood Testing and Transfusion (Da Nang Oncology Hospital) is always ready to donate blood when patients need it. In 2024 alone, he has donated whole blood many times to help patients. To date, Mr. Duong has donated blood more than 20 times to save lives...
With more than 15 years of working at the Department of Emergency - Intensive Care and Pathology of Neonatal (Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital), nurse Kieu Thi Minh Yen understands very well the pain of parents whose children unfortunately have diseases at birth.
With a deep love for her profession and understanding the feelings of parents, Ms. Yen always puts the goals and needs of patients first; helping, caring and explaining to the patient's family in a thoughtful and dedicated manner so that they can feel secure and confident in the treatment results of the doctors.
Besides, she also sympathizes with the pain of patients; is willing to support and call for material help for patients in difficult circumstances, bringing joy, faith and optimism in life to those around her...
In addition to the simple tasks of a nurse, she has constantly studied on her own to improve her ability to handle work. Thanks to that, she is always assigned to perform advanced, specialized techniques in the field of neonatology and serious illness; contributing significantly to saving the lives of patients.
According to the leader of the Department of Emergency Neonatal - Intensive Care and Pathology, the department is responsible for caring for and treating sick newborns under 28 days old, especially taking care of extremely premature and low birth weight babies, and seriously ill newborns requiring long-term treatment. During times when there are many patients, nurse Yen is willing to work overtime, actively supporting colleagues and taking care of sick children...
There are many other examples who still devote themselves day and night to the medical profession and to the sick. These shining examples, like the white coat, represent a sense of responsibility and dedication to overcoming difficulties to bring faith to life.
