According to information from the conference, the strong recovery of the market international visitors to Vietnam has supported the recovery of the resort industry, contributing to putting Vietnam among the fastest growing markets in Southeast Asia by 2025.
Assessing the growth of aviation and tourism in Vietnam in the period of September 2024 - August 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, Ms. Bousserind Comson - an expert from Amadeus said that air transport from the world to Vietnam has increased significantly (up 11.2%), both in terms of passenger volume and number of seats provided. Notably, along with the number, tourist spending on flights to Vietnam has also increased, typically Chinese visitors have grown significantly in the business class segment on flights from abroad to Vietnam. In terms of destination search, Vietnam has recorded great interest from the leading market, China, in addition to Korea, the US, Japan, Thailand, India, etc.
Meet The Experts (MTE) - annual symposium on real estate and resort tourism .
Mr. Mauro Gasparotti - Senior Director of Southeast Asia of Savills Hotels said: “In recent times, Vietnam has gradually affirmed its position as one of the favorite destinations of Asian tourists. Tourism and accommodation products in Vietnam are increasingly diverse, with the appearance of many new hotel brands, belonging to many different segments that can meet the needs of customer files in the market. As of October 2025, 132 brands were present in Vietnam and 5 new brands came to Vietnam this year, and there are also many other famous brands in the world that have not yet come to Vietnam. In addition, domestic hotel management brands such as MVillage, Muong Thanh... are also growing, being chosen more and more by investors".
Experts predict that this year, China will be the leading source of customers for Vietnam and, together with South Korea, will become the two largest tourist groups to Vietnam. With the advantage of ensuring security and safety, Vietnam has succeeded in attracting a large number of tourists from these two leading markets, surpassing Thailand. Thanks to the growth of international arrivals, the retail sector, domestic consumption, along with the hotel industry, have the motivation to develop and optimize revenue. This is the basis for the hotel industry in Vietnam to increase supply, both in terms of new projects and projects that have been stagnant in the past time will be restarted. In particular, the ultra-luxury resort real estate segment is forecast to grow significantly, but the high growth rate is still mainly due to the small number of similar projects in Vietnam.
Da Nang is expected to continue to be a hot spot for hotel and resort project development.
Forecasting the project development situation in the coming time, Mr. Mauro Gasparotti shared: "Future supply is still mainly concentrated in coastal destinations, in which Da Nang and Phu Quoc lead in the number of rooms. Hanoi also recorded an increase in supply in the high-end and luxury segment, mainly from hotels with international brands. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is still scarce in new project supply, which is the basis for hotels in Ho Chi Minh City - especially the high-end and international branded segment to continue to grow in business activities".
Notably, Vietnam is witnessing a trend of developing complex projects in areas surrounding major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These projects often combine hotels, resorts, convention centers, retail and entertainment facilities to create a multifunctional ecosystem that both attracts tourists and meets the needs of relaxation.
Along with the trend of complex projects, the all-inclusive resort model is also attracting attention in the Vietnamese market. With the advantage of being developed on large land funds, increasingly complete connecting infrastructure, and the need for "all-in-one" experiences of customers, these models are expected to continue to maintain investment attraction in the coming period. These are also models that are suitable for the trend of "extended family" tourist groups with members from many age groups joining the trip, from babies to the elderly, requiring resort accommodation products to meet all of these groups of customers.
