On the afternoon of October 20, continuing the 10th Session, the National Assembly worked in the hall to listen to a report on the results of supervising the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Presenting the report, National Assembly Standing Committee member Duong Thanh Binh said: Through the National Assembly deputies' meetings with voters, 1,472 petitions were compiled and sent to competent authorities for settlement, 1,433 petitions were resolved, the rate of petitions that were answered reached 97.4%.
Voters' petitions are resolved quickly and promptly.
Specifically, the National Assembly and its agencies received and responded to 39/39 petitions, reaching 100%.

Voters welcomed and agreed with the strong and comprehensive innovation of the National Assembly. The activities of the National Assembly are increasingly democratic, public, transparent, and closely connected with the people. Many issues of concern and recommendations from voters have been accepted by the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee, closely linked with legislative activities, supervision, and decisions on important issues of the country. Voter contact activities have been highly effective, especially through voter contact, Party and State leaders have directly listened to and answered many issues of concern to voters, creating trust among voters and people nationwide.
The National Assembly has made strong innovations in the way of thinking about law-making, focusing on people and businesses, meeting the country's development requirements. In particular, the National Assembly has promptly institutionalized the Party's major policies in arranging and streamlining the political system, building a 2-level local government model and continuing to remove legal difficulties and obstacles, creating institutional breakthroughs to bring the country into the era of modernization, digital transformation, green transformation and sustainable development.
Supervision activities continue to be carried out in the direction of continuous innovation, with focus and key points, concentrating on pressing issues arising in socio -economic life, attracting widespread attention from voters and people.
Besides, the Government, ministries and central branches have resolved and responded to 1,372/1,410 petitions, reaching 97.3%.
Voters highly appreciated the Government, ministries and central branches for their resolute direction in implementing many solutions to develop the economy and stabilize people's lives. Resolutions of the National Assembly were seriously implemented, many commitments and promises were fulfilled, creating people's trust in the Government's management. The quality of handling and responding to voters' petitions has been increasingly improved.
Many ministries and branches have innovated in handling voters' petitions such as: proactively grasping information and shortcomings from localities in areas under the State management responsibility of ministries and branches, on the basis of receiving voters' petitions to promptly propose a roadmap for resolution.
Some voters' petitions were answered ahead of schedule or ministries and branches offered practical solutions to meet voters' wishes, which were highly appreciated by voters.
“The prompt and timely resolution of voters’ petitions demonstrates the Party and State’s concern for people’s lives as well as the high responsibility of the Government, ministries and central agencies. Receiving, studying and resolving voters’ petitions has contributed to removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting socio-economic development, stabilizing social order and security, improving people’s lives, and creating trust for voters and people across the country,” said Mr. Duong Thanh Binh.

Urgently direct the inspection, review and final settlement of voters' petitions.
However, National Assembly Standing Committee member Duong Thanh Binh said that there are still some issues that voters have proposed but have not been promptly resolved, causing difficulties for localities in implementation, such as: Resolving the petition of Lang Son province voters on perfecting legal regulations on petrol stations using small-scale petrol equipment; Vinh Long province voters proposed that there should be specific instructions on regulations on the "novelty" of machinery and equipment so that localities have a basis to implement support when selecting industrial promotion projects.
In addition, resolving a number of issues that directly affect people's lives requires close direction and inspection from ministries and branches; a number of voters' recommendations on amending and supplementing policies for medical staff have been slow to be resolved.
From there, it is recommended that the Ministry of Industry and Trade review all legal regulations on small-scale petrol stations to amend and supplement them to suit the reality; at the same time, review all, amend and supplement legal documents guiding the implementation of industrial promotion policies, including specific regulations on the novelty of advanced machinery to overcome difficulties to effectively implement the state's industrial promotion policies.
Recommend that the Ministry of Construction urgently direct the inspection, review, and final settlement of voters' petitions; the Ministry of Health urgently submit to the Government to issue the above Decree to meet voters' legitimate aspirations.
