Alcaraz's surprise appearance in the first round of the US Open with a shaved head caused a stir in the tennis world. This hair was a far cry from his usual handsome look. And immediately, it became a hot topic of discussion.

After the victory over Reilly Opelka, Alcaraz revealed the truth behind it when his brother Alvaro was the "culprit".

"He used the hair clipper the wrong way. And the only way to fix it was to shave it off," Alcaraz humorously shared.

Alcaraz initially thought the hair was “not that bad”. But now it has become an unexpected lucky charm for the Spaniard.

The new hairstyle did not bring bad luck but on the contrary helped him have a perfect journey in New York, culminating in a 4-set victory over opponent Jannik Sinner to win his second Grand Slam title here and become the world's number 1 tennis player.

Asked earlier what he planned to do to celebrate, Alcaraz smiled mysteriously: "Something even better. Just wait and see. There's a surprise!"

Immediately after his coronation, Alcaraz returned to Spain and put his words into action. In his hometown of Murcia, he had his hair bleached and dyed platinum by his longtime barber, Victor.
