Echoes of August in the hearts of young people

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - 80 autumns have passed, but the spirit of the August Revolution and the echoes of the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945 still resonate in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. The pride of living in an independent, heroic country has become the fire that urges the young generation of Thanh Hoa today to constantly train, strive, and continue the tradition of their ancestors in building the Fatherland.

Bui Thi Thuy Dung - a student at Hong Duc University - is the one who "continues the story of peace " with many efforts and creativity in scientific research and volunteer activities.

The 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is approaching, the red flag with yellow star is not only shining brightly on the streets but also bustling in the hearts of everyone. For the young generation, those who were born and raised in peace, the memory of the sacrifices of their ancestors is always a sacred reminder, from which they will be more steadfast, continuing the story of peace with proud contributions and achievements.

Today's youth have many beautiful stories about will and determination. The story of Bui Thi Thuy Dung, a 4th year student of the Faculty of Education , Hong Duc University, is marked by her aspiration to rise up and her spirit of dedication. Dung not only has an impressive record of academic and training achievements, but is also known as a beautiful image of perseverance, determination and perseverance in studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. Imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings: "Study to work, to be a person, to be a cadre, to serve organizations, groups, to serve the Fatherland, the nation and humanity", right from the moment she entered university, Dung identified studying as her top priority. She is passionate about every subject, constantly researching and studying with projects and topics of practical application such as "Developing communication skills for 5th grade students through teaching math word problems", or startup ideas such as: "Building online boarding houses", "HDU Skills Development Center"... For three consecutive years, Dung has achieved the title of excellent student.

Not only is Dung excellent in the classroom, she is also an exemplary and energetic union and association officer. She actively participates in volunteer activities, from “Green Summer”, “Supporting Exam Season” to volunteer trips to support people in the highlands, donating blood, and community activities. As a leader, Dung is always flexible and creative in organizing activities, knows how to inspire spirit, connect forces, and spread humanistic values.

That dedication has helped Bui Thi Thuy Dung become more and more mature, confident and recognized with proud achievements: 2 consecutive years of achieving the title of "5 Good Students" at the provincial level; receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in 2023, 2024; the title of "Outstanding Young Party Member" in 2025; Badge "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings". Dung is one of 6 outstanding young faces of Thanh Hoa attending the National Congress of Advanced Youth in 2025.

Bui Thi Thuy Dung is just one of many beautiful images of Thanh Hoa's youth union members who are "continuing the story of peace". From studying, scientific research, creative startups to working, volunteering, and building their homeland, each young person contributes to affirming their pioneering role in the cause of innovation. That spirit is partly demonstrated through the telling numbers. In the first 6 months of 2025, youth union members in the whole province "Lighted up the countryside roads" with 32km of electric lines, built 15 model roads, 9 rural traffic routes; supported the repair of 35 cultural houses, 14 temporary houses; Implementing 126 youth projects on environmental protection, climate change response... Especially, in these historic days, carrying the revolutionary fire, each union member and youth strives to compete in studying, practicing, spreading a beautiful and useful lifestyle, every day affirming their mettle, intelligence and responsibility towards their homeland and country.

Secretary of the Hac Thanh Ward Youth Union Tran Huyen Trang said: “Every year on these days, in the hearts of every union member and youth, there is an indescribable feeling. Those feelings have been expressed by the union members and youth of Hac Thanh Ward through practical actions such as visiting and giving gifts to policy families, planting trees... Most recently, supporting people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5.”
