John Ternus joined Apple in 2001 and has played an important role in developing iconic Apple products such as Mac, iPad, iPhone...

Recently, Apple has increased the presence of John Terus at major events. He introduced the iPhone Air at the special event on September 9 and appeared at the iPhone 17 launch event in London, England. These moves show Terus's increasingly important role in Apple's external affairs.

John Ternus is described as having high technical expertise and affable demeanor, able to balance innovation with managerial acumen.

Internal sources from Apple said that Tim Cook really likes John Ternus's working and management style because Ternus can present well, has a mild personality, can come up with appropriate solutions to problems, makes careful decisions and never gives controversial content...

In addition, sources also said that John Ternus has similar characteristics to Tim Cook in the way of managing and running work. These are considered qualities that will help Ternus become the name targeted to replace Tim Cook in case Cook retires or leaves Apple.

Tim Cook, who turns 65 next month, has led Apple to unprecedented heights since taking over from Steve Jobs as CEO in 2011.

Under Tim Cook's leadership, Apple has consistently achieved record revenue, becoming a company with a market value of 3 trillion, expanding into service areas instead of focusing solely on hardware as before.

After the success achieved with Apple, CEO Tim Cook has thought about the possibility of retirement.

In an interview with The New York Times in 2021, CEO Tim Cook said he was considering retiring within the next 10 years. However, it is not impossible that Tim Cook will consider retiring earlier and Apple will have to be prepared for any possible situation.

In addition to John Ternus, other potential candidates predicted to replace Tim Cook as Apple's CEO include Craig Federighi - Vice President of Software and Deirdre O'Brien - Vice President of Retail and Human Resources.

Of course, whoever sits in the CEO chair of Apple will have to face the huge shadow left by the two previous CEOs, Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. Therefore, Apple's leadership will certainly have to think very carefully before making a decision on who will lead the company in the future.

John Ternus, born in 1975. He has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Before joining Apple, Ternus spent about four years as a mechanical engineer at Virtual Research Systems, a display technology company. This was the early part of his career that helped him gain hands-on experience in the field of hardware engineering.

Ternus joined Apple in 2001 and quickly rose through the ranks, primarily in product design and engineering. In 2013, Ternus was promoted to Vice President of Hardware Engineering.

In 2021, Ternus was promoted to Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, leading the entire hardware engineering team at Apple and reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook.

Ternus has been involved in the development of many iconic Apple products, including the iMac refresh, MacBook Pro, 2018 iPad Pro, iMac Pro, and the all-new 2019 Mac Pro.
