Aston Martin announces the DB12 S - the new flagship of the legendary, driver-focused DB range. The DB12 S builds on the success of the DB12 to deliver exhilarating performance. The Aston Martin DB12 S is the new pinnacle of the Super Tourer range. Along with the DBX S and Vantage S, the DB12 S is the latest model to honor Aston Martin's long-standing tradition of using the "S" suffix for the highest performance version of its famous model.
The “S” tradition dates back to 1953 with the DB3S race car. This was followed by the first-generation Vanquish S (2004) and second-generation (2016), the Vantage S V8 (2011), the Vantage S V12 (2013) and the four-seat Rapide S (2013). The DB12 S's power has been improved, with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 690hp (700PS) at 6,000rpm (up 19.7hp/20PS) and 800Nm of torque from 3,000-6,000rpm, the DB12 S delivers impressive response. Top speed 202mph (325km/h). The DB12 S features a new four-pipe stainless steel exhaust system tuned to accentuate engine frequencies across the entire rev range, delivering a deep, powerful sound. The optional titanium exhaust system amplifies the sound, enhancing bass, mid and high frequencies, raising the sound level by 1.5dB; while also reducing weight by 11.7kg compared to the stainless steel system. The powertrain has been recalibrated to optimise the Launch Control system, reducing shift times by 50% and improving 0-60 mph acceleration by 0.1 seconds to 3.4 seconds. Aston Martin engineers have further refined throttle response with a new “S” throttle mapping. A comprehensive chassis upgrade package enhances agility and driver engagement, while improving feel and composure.
The steering and electronic rear differential (E-diff) calibrations create a more natural, intuitive connection and response. With early throttle input in corners, the DB12 S is perfectly balanced and confident. Another key upgrade for the DB12 S is the standard carbon ceramic brakes (CCB). They offer superior braking performance and heat resistance. The front brake discs are 410mm in diameter at the front, 360mm at the rear. They reduce unladen weight by 27kg compared to steel brakes. The Aston Martin DB12 S exudes sportiness thanks to a new front splitter that creates a more assertive look, creating downforce and channeling air into the front wheel arches to stabilize the airflow and reduce lift. In addition, the DB12 S also has vents on the hood in gloss black or 2x2 Twill carbon fiber. The function of the vents is to release hot air from the 4.0L V8 engine block. The two sides with prominent details painted in gloss black. The DB12 S's interior bears many "S" marks in Aston Martin's product range. The highlight is the red anodized finish for the metal driving mode knob, which is also the color of the seat belts, contrasting stitching on the seat edges, headrests... The Alcantara-wrapped sports steering wheel is heated. The Aston Martin wing emblem on the headrests uses a combination of embossing and debossing techniques to achieve precision and depth.
The new 2026 Aston Martin DB12 S has three interior finish options: leather and Alcantara Accelerate, semi-aniline leather and Alcantara Inspire S, and full semi-aniline leather Inspire S. Both Inspire S packages include micro-perforated herringbone quilting and Alcantara headliner. The DB12 S comes with 16-way power Sport Plus front seats as standard, with optional Carbon Fiber Performance seats. Aston Martin says the new DB12S is available to order now, both as a coupe and a Volante, but hasn't mentioned pricing for either. The car it's based on, the Aston Martin DB12, starts at around $250,000, so the DB12S will be a bit more expensive.
