People are often advised to drink plenty of water. But what if they don't feel thirsty?
Is there a time when drinking water is healthier?
Here, experts share the best time to drink water to maximize benefits.
Dr. Partap Chauhan, Director of Jiva Ayurveda Clinic (India), affirms that the way and time of drinking water is very important. In traditional medicine, water is not only a refreshing drink but also a medicine, a rhythm - symbolizing the cyclical nature of life.
Drinking water mindfully can heal, energize, and balance the body. Mindful drinking can actually support the body in its healing process, says Dr. Chauhan.
So, Dr. Chauhan has pointed out 5 times of the day when people need to drink water to improve health benefits, according to the Indian Express.
What health benefits does drinking water bring to you when you wake up?
Right after waking up, before doing anything, drink a glass of warm water.

As soon as you wake up, before doing anything else, drink a glass of warm water. This gently wakes up the entire system by flushing out toxins from the body, aiding digestion and helping focus the mind, explains Dr. Chauhan.
30 minutes before each meal
About 10 to 20 minutes before eating, sip warm water. This helps prepare the digestive process, he says. During or immediately after a meal, try not to drink too much, Dr. Chauhan notes.
1 hour after meals
After meals, when the food has settled, a small glass of warm water can be drunk to aid nutrient absorption and mild detoxification.
When feeling thirsty
Your body knows you best. Dr. Chauhan advises to stop and listen to your body and drink water when you are thirsty, but not to drink continuously as this can make you feel uncomfortable or sluggish.
Before bathing and before going to bed
Dr Chauhan said a small glass of water before a bath can also help with blood circulation. He added: A small glass of water an hour before bed can help the nervous system settle down so the muscles can recharge while sleeping overnight.
What should be noted?
Dr. Chauhan recommends sitting down while drinking water. Try to sip, not gulp. Drink water at room temperature or warm, not cold. Even if it’s just a small change, proactively drinking water will do wonders for your body, mood, and overall health, Dr. Chauhan said, according to the Indian Express.
