In Vietnam, pickleball is growing in popularity due to its suitability for all ages. Gentle pickleball can bring strong physical and mental health benefits, especially for women whose bones weaken over time due to osteoporosis or loss of bone density (primary osteoporosis).

“Weight-bearing exercises like pickleball, as well as supervised weight training, can help strengthen women’s bones over time, preventing osteoporosis,” says Dr. Ross Spires of the Riverside Women’s Care Center in Carolina, USA. “Pickleball also helps improve hand-eye coordination and maintain nerve function as players age.”
Many people think that pickleball is extremely easy to play, but the opposite is true. This sport is competitive and requires a high level of coordination, just like tennis. Because the pickleball ball does not bounce as high as a tennis ball, players need quick reflexes, the ability to return the ball, and flexible movement to keep up with the speed of the game.
In addition to the factors that help prevent osteoporosis, the gentle nature of pickleball also brings unexpected benefits to women during pregnancy. Current studies have shown that exercise, especially pickleball, during pregnancy increases the chance of normal birth.

Although the change in abdominal center of gravity can reduce coordination, women who exercise regularly will easily overcome this stage, making the birth process easier.
According to experts, there is nothing wrong with playing pickleball up until the due date, provided the player has a regular exercise routine. However, if you have never exercised before, pregnancy is not the right time to start this sport.
In addition, pickleball is also a recommended sport for women to lose weight and keep in shape safely and effectively by burning a large amount of calories in each match.
According to a study from the University of Rochester Medical Center (USA), regular pickleball players will burn 422 calories per hour, more than jogging at an average speed for 1 hour (330 calories). While athletes competing at high intensity will burn 704 calories per hour.
In modern life, women often face a lot of pressure. Pickleball is not only a sport, but also an effective way to relieve stress. When participating in a match, the body will produce endorphins, helping to improve mood and reduce stress.

Pickleball is also a social sport. The friendly playground helps players easily connect, exchange, and expand relationships. This not only helps reduce loneliness but also brings relaxation, joy, and positive energy.
