Handing over and putting into use the emergency anti-erosion embankment on the north bank of Cai San canal

(CT) - The Can Tho City Irrigation Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment) has just inaugurated, handed over and put into use the emergency anti-erosion embankment project of Cai San canal (north bank of Cai San canal, the section bordering An Giang province to Duong Xuong canal), in Vinh Trinh commune, Can Tho city. The project was completed nearly 3 months ahead of schedule. This project is to celebrate the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The emergency anti-erosion embankment project of Cai San canal was inaugurated and put into use.

The project is invested by the Can Tho City Irrigation Department, started on November 11, 2024, and constructed by the consortium of Traffic Construction Investment Joint Stock Company 309 - Ha Liem Company Limited - Construction Trade Service Joint Stock Company 626. The entire embankment is 876.5m long with a total investment of nearly 100 billion VND from the state budget.

Mr. Ngo Thai Chan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, said that the project not only contributes to preventing riverbank erosion, protecting the safety of people's houses and land, but also opens up new development space for the locality. The project was handed over to the People's Committee of Vinh Trinh Commune to receive, manage and effectively exploit the project. The Department requested the People's Committee of Vinh Trinh Commune to propagate and mobilize people to protect and effectively exploit the project.

On the occasion of the inauguration, the investor and the contractor consortium presented 15 gifts to households in difficult circumstances in Vinh Lan hamlet, Vinh Trinh commune.
