Kunsthistorisches Museum was built in 1891, near the Royal Palace, owning many precious collections of important significance to the history, culture, and art of Europe and the world. Among them are masterpieces of talented European painters of the 18th century and the largest Bruegel collection in the world. Bruegel or Pieter Bruegel the Elder, a Flemish painter (Belgian), is honored as the "master of prints".

Other major, famous works of art include Raphael's "Madonna in the Meadow" and Vermeer's "The Allegory of Painting." Other famous artists whose works are displayed in the museum include Rubens, Rembrandt, Dürer, Titian, and Tintoretto.

The Kunstkammer Vienna (Hall of Arts and Wonders) in the museum houses more than 2,100 valuable objects, collected over the centuries by Habsburg emperors and grand dukes. It is considered "one of the most important halls of arts and wonders in the world".

The centerpiece of the collection is a golden salt tureen made by the famous 16th-century sculptor and goldsmith Benvenuto Cellini. Many other medieval art objects are also on display: engravings, clocks, paintings, sculptures, and wall hangings.

The value of this collection, restored and embellished between 2002 and 2012, is considered "incalculable". The artifacts are placed in 20 rooms. Visitors can witness more than 1,000 years of historical development displayed in the Kunstkammer, on an area of more than 2,700 square meters. The oldest artifact is an ivory table from the 9th century, according to the museum's website.

Visitors can explore the museum's collections and exhibitions by booking one-hour guided tours (in English), which are held every Sunday at 3 p.m. The museum welcomes millions of visitors each year and has built its collections online and launched 3D tours on a digital platform. The museum is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from June to August. Admission starts at 21 euros. Museum address: Maria-Theresien-Platz, 1010 Vienna, Austria.

During your visit, stop for coffee in the Cupola Hall, which boasts a sumptuous dome. On Thursday evenings, from 6:30 pm to 10 pm, the hall transforms into an elegant yet intimate dining room. Dinner reservations can be made here.
