With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era", the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival is scheduled to take place from November 21-23 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism , Hanoi.
The festival has the participation of artisans, actors, and athletes from provinces and cities including Hanoi , Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La, and Thanh Hoa - localities with a large population of Muong ethnic people.
This is an opportunity to introduce and widely promote to businesses, tourists, domestic and international friends the potential and strengths of cultural, sports and tourism development and the unique cultural heritage values of the Muong ethnic group in the period of innovation, integration and national development.
Thereby, contributing to attracting investment resources for tourism development, creating momentum to promote, advertise, and link regions, speeding up the process of forming and developing key tourist areas and spots in localities with a large Muong population.
The festival is also an opportunity for artisans, actors and athletes of the Muong ethnic group from participating provinces and cities to study, exchange experiences, and raise awareness among all levels, sectors and ethnic people of their responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development.
The highlight is the opening ceremony of the "2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival, 2025" associated with the Opening Ceremony of "Week of Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" which will take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 21, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Dong Mo, Hanoi.
Within the framework of the Festival, there will be many cultural, sports and tourism activities, demonstrating the unique cultural features of the Muong ethnic group.
Specifically, the Mass Arts Festival; demonstration of traditional ethnic costumes; performance of Muong ethnic gongs; demonstration of Muong ethnic handicraft weaving; demonstration and introduction of Muong ethnic cultural rituals, general simulation of the cultural and folk beliefs of the Muong ethnic group, expressing the ethnic cultural identity, promoting positive factors and eliminating negative, backward factors that are no longer suitable for today's cultural life; scientific seminar on "Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development"; photo exhibition "Muong ethnic people accompanying the development of the country"; exhibition "Cultural characteristics of Muong ethnic group in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups"; mass sports activities of Muong ethnic group including: traditional wrestling, throwing con, crossbow shooting, tug of war, raft fighting, stick pushing.
In order for the Festival to be organized solemnly, practically, effectively, economically, without wasteful ostentation, while creating a joyful, exciting, and safe atmosphere associated with the country's political and cultural events, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that the activities within the framework of the Festival must clearly demonstrate the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group, promote the mass character, be rich in types, creative, diverse, and unique in content.
Ensure consistency, science and flexibility in direction between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; People's Committees of provinces and cities participating in the Festival.
Programs participating in the Festival must be carefully prepared, well-rehearsed, have typical, appropriate content and high artistry, meeting the creative and enjoyment needs of the people; activities must be community-based, promote the role of cultural subjects, and promote traditional cultural values associated with the progressive elements of the times.
At the same time, it has practical significance in orienting the work of preserving Muong ethnic culture associated with tourism development, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the Muong ethnic community in the current context./.
