Construction of cable-stayed bridge worth over 3,900 billion, the second largest in Vietnam, began

The Dai Ngai crane construction investment project is located on National Highway 60 with a length of 15 km, the starting point intersects with National Highway 54 in Hung Hoa commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province; the end point intersects with Nam Song Hau national highway through Long Duc commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province. The total investment of the project is 7,962 billion VND, from the state budget, with 2 main bridges, Dai Ngai 1 bridge and Dai Ngai 2 bridge, invested by Project Management Board 85.

The Dai Ngai 1 bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a total construction value of more than 3,900 billion VND. Of which, the main bridge is nearly 2.6 km long, 21.5 m wide, crossing the Dinh An channel of the Hau River. The main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge, with 2 A-shaped towers 110 m high (from the bridge deck). Expected to be completed in June 2028.

When completed, Dai Ngai Bridge, together with Rach Mieu Bridge, Ham Luong Bridge, and Co Chien Bridge, will improve the transportation capacity of the Mekong Delta, creating convenient traffic connections between the southern coastal provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, shortening travel time, reducing transportation costs, and expanding trade. According to calculations, this traffic route will help shorten about 80km compared to National Highway 1A when traveling from Ca Mau, Soc Trang , Bac Lieu to Ho Chi Minh City.

A representative of Deo Ca Group - the joint venture contractor - said that immediately after winning the bid, the contractor deployed personnel to the site, built a project management office, and mobilized specialized machinery and equipment to the site to begin construction immediately after the ceremony.
