Caught 18 people gambling on cockfighting for money in Tien Giang

On June 18, Tien Giang Provincial Police said that the provincial police's professional units had just caught a gambling den in the form of cockfighting with money on an empty lot in Thoi Son commune, My Tho city (Tien Giang).

Accordingly, at the scene, the authorities seized 9 chickens, 10 pairs of iron spurs, 1 scale and watch; temporarily detained 16 mobile phones, 9 motorbikes and nearly 70 million VND. At the same time, they worked with 18 subjects related to the gambling den.

Through investigation, the subjects confessed that the gambling den was organized by Ho Van Can (42 years old, residing in Thoi Son commune, My Tho city).

The case is currently being investigated and handled by My Tho City authorities according to the provisions of law.

* On the same day, the Investigation Police Agency of Can Giuoc District Police, Long An Province also issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case, prosecute the accused and issue an order to detain Tran Huu Tien (27 years old, residing in Loc Tien Hamlet, My Loc Commune, Can Giuoc District) for the act of property theft.

According to initial information, Tran Huu Tien stole the motorbike of Mr. NNL (36 years old, residing in Loc Trung hamlet, My Loc commune, Can Giuoc district) when the motorbike was left inside the porch.

By professional measures, after only 23 hours, My Loc Commune Police arrested Tien while he was hiding in My Loc Commune, and at the same time seized the motorbike as evidence.

At the police station, Tien admitted to committing the theft. Through verification, Tien had a previous conviction for theft of property that had not been cleared.

The case is being further investigated and handled by the authorities according to regulations.
