The World 9 Ball Championship 2025, the most prestigious tournament in the world of pool, will be held at the end of July in Saudi Arabia. Vietnam has 5 representatives competing, with Duong Quoc (Hoang Sao) leading.

The 2025 World 9 Ball Championship officially kicked off from July 21 to 26 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), with the participation of the world's top players. Of which, the champion will pocket 250,000 USD (about 6.5 billion VND), the highest prize in the history of the tournament.

The reigning World 9 Ball Championship champion is Fedor Gorst, one of the brightest names in European pool. In the 2024 tournament, Fedor Gorst won a dramatic victory over Eklent Kaci with a score of 13-11 in the final. This year, pool fans are eagerly waiting to see if the reigning champion can defend the crown of the most prestigious tournament, or if a new world champion will emerge.

Vietnam Billiards pool has 5 players competing at the World 9 Ball Championship 2025, including: Duong Quoc Hoang (Hoang Sao), Pham Phuong Nam, Nguyen Anh Tuan (Tkon), Luong Duc Thien and Bui Truong An.

Among them, Duong Quoc Hoang is the most prominent name. He is currently the Vietnamese player with the highest position on the World Nineball Tour (WNT) rankings, at 26th. The player nicknamed Hoang Sao won the Scottish Open 2024 and most recently the Reyes Cup 2024 in the Asian team. With stable performance, strong mentality and international competition experience, Duong Quoc Hoang is a Vietnamese player expected to be able to go deep in the tournament.
