Arrange parking lots and temporary toilets on the highway

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the leaders of the Ministry of Transport requested the Vietnam Expressway Administration to preside over and coordinate with the Project Management Boards to review each specific location, arrange temporary rest stops with appropriate distances, ensure convenience and meet the needs of people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route.

In the immediate future, units will take advantage of immediately arranging parking lots and temporary restrooms at rest stops that have been partially handed over or at convenient locations along the route to take advantage of and arrange immediately to complete before April 27.

At the same time, the Vietnam Road Administration guides the Project Management Boards on the necessary procedures to connect temporary rest stops with the highway, and supplement the traffic safety system to ensure the safety of vehicles entering and exiting temporary rest stops. At the same time, there are measures to propagate and guide vehicles to know about the locations of rest stops and gas stations on the routes connecting to the highway, for use in the near future.

According to the updated progress from the Department of Expressways, 8/10 rest stops of the North-South expressway in the east of phase 1 issued bidding documents on March 20, and are expected to select investors in June. Currently, 5/8 pairs of rest stops on expressways including Mai Son - National Highway 45, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Dien Chau - Bai Vot, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay will hand over the site to investors in June to start construction.

The remaining stations on the Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressways are reported to be handed over by August, two months later than expected. By August, it is expected that five pairs of rest stops will be put into operation on the expressway, and three more pairs will be added in October. It is expected that in November, all expressway projects that have been opened to traffic will have temporary rest stops to serve the people.
