Coast Guard Region 4 Command effectively deploys peak period to prevent IUU fishing

On September 3, in Phu Quoc special zone (An Giang province), the Coast Guard Region 4 Command held a conference to summarize the peak period of drastic prevention of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Major General Nguyen Van Dung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Region Command attended and directed the conference.

From August 1 to September 2, 2025, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command deployed a peak period with many synchronous, drastic, and effective measures and achieved important results, preventing Vietnamese fishing vessels from violating foreign waters and illegally exploiting seafood.

The Command of Coast Guard Region 4 has carried out well the propaganda work against IUU fishing in the direction of innovating the content and form of propaganda visually and vividly so that fishermen can easily absorb and grasp the provisions of the law, while at the same time creating general deterrence and prevention.

At the conference, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 commended collectives and individuals with good achievements during the peak period.
