Can you stop gossiping and gossiping?

Not only online but also in real life, gossip can be seen in many places. Whenever an accident, an argument, a fight... happens, many people are willing to stop and 'watch'.

Reader Manh Quang sent Tuoi Tre Online his opinions on this topic which is not new, but still hot with the "dramas" on social networks.

"Gossip" from the country to the world

Friday midnight, social networks suddenly became noisy because of the livestream (live broadcast) "fighting" between some people (let's call them) who are somewhat famous, and are of interest to young people. Private love affairs just poured out through the words of both sides.

Surprisingly, there are more than a million people who stay up late, skip sleep, and even skip the need for weekend rest just to "watch".

The main character even requires payment to ask questions. However, there are still many people willing to pay just to sit and wait to be asked, which in the language of today's youth, is to "inhale the drama", so as not to be "old-fashioned".

Many people jokingly say: wherever there are "scandals", "changes", and "drama", there are young Vietnamese people, whether in the country or abroad.

Whenever something happens, just go on social networks, scroll through the comments and you will see endless lines of young Vietnamese people coming in to "gossip".

Whether the author writes in English or any other language, there is a translation tool. Just be afraid of not being quick to read, not afraid of not understanding what others write.

"Watching" is not enough, but also having to share it with others, followed by a lot of derisive and even insulting words, then turning around to attack each other among viewers, making the image of many young Vietnamese people on social networks become extremely ugly.

In addition, some news aggregators, with sensational headlines, continuously post articles, making the "gossip" community even more excited, wanting to see where the story they are "gossiping" will go.

This endless "gossip" has, in a way, created a group of "famous" people on social networks. The more personal stories are shared, the more "drama" is created, the more people "gossip", click "follow", and the more "famous" they become.

Then, as a natural rule, some brands invited them to events and sell online. Some other people saw this and followed suit, creating a repeating cycle.

Quit bad habits, okay?

Not only on the internet, but in real life, gossip can be found in many places. Just an accident, a fight, or an argument happens and many people are willing to stop and "watch".

Like one time, I was riding a ride-hailing app, and there was a traffic jam ahead, and it turned out that there were two people fighting right on the side of the road.

Just like that, many people stopped their cars to watch. My driver suddenly stopped to stand on his tiptoes to look.

It was not until I urged him to leave that he left that place, not forgetting to click his tongue regretfully: "If I wasn't carrying a passenger, I would have just stood there watching!" leaving me speechless with his gossiping.

Or when an accident happens, in addition to a few people stopping their vehicles to help, many people crowd around to point, film, and sometimes prevent the authorities and medical staff from entering to help, give first aid, or conduct initial investigation.

Or when an artist passes away, a large crowd of people flock to the funeral. In addition to those who come to mourn and offer condolences, many people just gather in a circle and then exclaim together when they see an artist appear to pay their respects to the deceased.

They cheered, smiled, tried to jostle each other to shake hands, and take pictures as if it were a free event. How could that be the solemn atmosphere of a funeral? Was it worth it to give up work and money just to "watch" like that?

"Love scandals" are between two people, if they don't agree then they have the right to talk about it, but why do so many people sit and listen to the two sides "accusing" each other back and forth all night?

When accidents or incidents happen, people also watch, but keep their distance and should not crowd around to obstruct law enforcement officers.

And of course, you shouldn't "watch" the funeral and laugh and talk happily like many people do.

Vietnamese people have a high sense of community, always caring and helping, even with strangers. But "nodding" and gossiping to the extent mentioned above is no longer a good thing.

When can I quit this bad habit?
