To respond to "Global Road Safety Week", schools can choose one of the slogans such as: "Streets for Life", "Cycling - Healthy - Happy - Safe", "Ride the Electric Vehicle - Environmentally Friendly", "Ride the Bus - Less Risky", "Drink - Don't Drive" and "Slow Down - Yield to Pedestrians".

On the afternoon of May 17, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent an urgent dispatch to the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts; principals of affiliated high schools, intermediate schools, and colleges; directors of vocational education and continuing education centers and heads of affiliated units on responding to the "Global Road Safety Week" in Vietnam in 2023 and strengthening traffic order and safety during the summer vacation and the 2023 High School Graduation Exam.

Accordingly, from now until May 22, schools will respond to "Global Road Safety Week" by hanging banners, billboards, and propaganda posters at their units.

Schools can choose one of the slogans such as "Streets for Life", "Cycling - Healthy - Fun - Safe", "Ride the Electric Car - Environmentally Friendly", "Take the Bus - Less Risky", "Drink Alcohol - Don't Drive" and "Slow Down - Give Way to Pedestrians".

Students of Gia Dinh High School (Binh Thanh District) attend a thematic activity in the school yard.

In addition, in order to strengthen the work of ensuring order during the summer vacation and the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to effectively exploit the system and application of online communication, messaging systems, and emails to strengthen propaganda and dissemination, and education of laws on road, railway, and waterway traffic for students.

In addition, it is necessary to thoroughly educate the management staff, teachers, students and pupils about the regulations on administrative sanctions for those who violate the law when participating in traffic such as not driving after drinking alcohol or beer; not using the phone while driving; wearing a standard helmet when riding a motorbike, scooter, electric bicycle; wearing a seat belt when riding a car; wearing a life jacket when riding a water vehicle...

Leaders of junior high and high schools in the area thoroughly instructed parents to strictly not give motorbikes to students without a driver's license or without meeting the conditions prescribed by law during the summer vacation of 2023.

For units assigned to organize entrance and graduation exams in 2023, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with the police and local authorities to have specific plans to ensure traffic safety and order at the unit.

Particularly for junior colleges and junior colleges, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City recommends close coordination with the Traffic Safety Committee and relevant local agencies to deploy measures to ensure order, traffic safety, and traffic congestion at school gates, while also paying attention to, directing, and creating conditions for students to volunteer to participate in supporting traffic guidance during peak exam periods.
