CeCe Truong was moved when hearing her parents talk about their hopes through the songs she wrote.

On the evening of October 8, the "Toa" art space next to Ben Thanh Metro Station became warm, despite the pouring rain outside. Hundreds of audiences, artists, and friends braved the rain to attend the EP launch "Nung Duong Cong Trang" by CeCe Truong - daughter of the golden couple in Vietnamese music Cam Van - Khac Trieu.

Amidst the shimmering light, when CeCe sang her own songs, many people were moved to tears. The songs carried the breath of pain, of healing, and most of all – the journey of a young person daring to face himself.

The EP "Thung Duong Cong Thang" consists of four songs: "Thoat", "Di Di", "Lua Tat" and "Khong La Nguoi Con" - each song is a piece of the soul. If "Thoat" (originally titled "Thoat Depressed") is a song to shake off the darkness in the mind, "Di Di" (written with musician Phu Hien) carries the energy of liberation and moving on, then "Lua Tat" - a duet with rapper Drixen (who calls CeCe "aunt") - is a deep confession about hurt and healing.

Sitting quietly watching their daughter, singers Cam Van and Khac Trieu cried when listening to CeCe talk about the traumatic time in her youth - the pressure, the loss, and the shock after the serious accident in 2015 that required her to be treated for a long time.

"When I found out my child had to see a psychologist, I understood why he didn't cry after the accident. He kept the pain in his heart, and that pain turned into music. I just hope he can live with his passion and be loved by the audience" - singer Cam Van said with tears in her eyes.

Singer Khac Trieu rarely shares his thoughts.

Khac Trieu - husband, father, and companion in music shared: "I am proud that my daughter knows how to turn wounds into artistic materials. She has escaped the pain and knows how to tear it apart to write sincere melodies."

CeCe Truong dares to live authentically and dares to be different.

At 27 years old, CeCe Truong (real name Truong Hoang Van Khanh) is the image of a generation of young artists who dare to speak the truth about themselves. Having studied business administration and classical piano, she chose music as her journey to find herself. "CeCe doesn't want to be just "Cam Van - Khac Trieu's daughter". I want to be CeCe who tells stories through her own music" - she said.

To express the change, CeCe boldly cut off her familiar curly hair, choosing a dynamic short hair as an affirmation for a new journey. In music, she sought out RnB, Soul, Pop which are both liberal and profound.

Saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan - whose daughter also follows the profession - emotionally shared: "I understand the feelings of Cam Van and Khac Trieu. CeCe Truong is lucky to have loving parents, and I believe she will go far with her own soul." From the audience, many singers and actors such as Dam Vinh Hung, Quang Dung, Phuong Vy, Hien Mai... all gave words of praise to CeCe. The EP "Straight Curves" released last night (October 8) is CeCe Truong's debut music product and an open diary where she writes about her journey of healing and growth. From a girl who experienced a life-threatening accident, endured loneliness and pressure, CeCe now stands firmly on stage, writing, singing, and telling her own story.
