Vietnam Deposit Insurance Officers: Solid expertise, bright ethics

Imbued with Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, the staff of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) always strives to promote a sense of responsibility and dedication in every task. Through the work of reconciling depositors, the staff of the DIV has contributed to firmly protecting the rights of the people, enhancing public confidence in the banking system, and at the same time spreading the image of a standard staff member, close to the people.

Bridge of trust

In the financial and banking sector, people's trust in the credit institution system is vital, because it is where millions of families entrust their assets and the fruits of their labor. The Vietnam Deposit Insurance Corporation was established to carry out the special mission of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of depositors, strengthening public trust in the banking system, and contributing to maintaining national financial stability. This is not only a socio-economic task, but also a political task, a "commitment of the Party and State to the people" on protecting capital safety.

In the Northwestern region, where socio -economic conditions are still difficult, People's Credit Funds (PCFs) have become an important capital channel, supporting production and people's lives. However, this is also an area with limited governance, potential financial risks, which can directly impact depositors.

In that context, the Party Cell and the staff and Party members of the Vietnam Social Insurance Branch in the Northwest region (Branch) are more deeply aware of their responsibility to protect the safety of people's capital, just as Uncle Ho taught: "Whatever is beneficial to the people, we must do our best to do it, whatever is harmful to the people, we must avoid it."

One of the important highlights of Directive No. 06 dated March 12, 2019 of the Prime Minister on strengthening solutions to ensure operational safety and firmly consolidate the People's Credit Fund system is to assign the Vietnam Deposit Insurance to coordinate and support the State Bank's (SBV) inspection and supervision functions for the People's Credit Fund's operations. This is both a task and an opportunity for the Vietnam Deposit Insurance to more clearly demonstrate its role, social responsibility and mission entrusted by the Party, State and people.

Over the years, the Branch has carried out many practical activities, including the reconciliation of depositors. This activity is considered to be of great significance, contributing directly to the mission of protecting depositors and building people's trust in the People's Credit Fund system in particular and the financial and banking system in general.

The work of reconciling depositors is considered a "bridge of trust" between BHTGVN - QTDND - customers, contributing to improving transparency and safety in QTDND's operations, while helping people feel more secure when depositing money, thereby fulfilling the mission: Protecting the rights of depositors and strengthening public trust in the credit institution system.

The representative of the Branch's leadership and the Inspection Team agreed with the representative of the State Bank's leadership, Branch Region 4, the Thanh Son Commune Party Committee and the Thanh Son People's Committee to be inspected on the plan to implement the reconciliation of savings deposits.

From 2020 to now, the Branch has conducted inspections at the request of the State Bank at 35 QTDNDs, directly comparing with more than 1,400 depositors. Through this activity, people not only have their deposit balances accurately confirmed, but also have officers directly explain and advise them on many practical issues such as the role, functions and missions of BHTGVN, thereby helping depositors understand that each of their savings is within the "legal safety zone" protected by the State; The necessity of changing savings books to new models according to the regulations of the State Bank, to avoid legal risks and ensure consistency; The importance of providing accurate information, using valid ID cards/CCCDs/passports to ensure legality; Orientation of personal financial management habits: Choosing appropriate deposit terms, closely monitoring savings books...

While many people were initially hesitant, after being cross-checked and consulted, they changed their perception, trusted and supported this activity. Notably, after the cross-checking, the amount of savings deposits at most of the QTDNDs inspected increased.

The work of reconciling customers depositing money at the Branch has become a bright spot in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. This is a clear demonstration of the responsible and creative working efficiency of cadres and party members - those who contribute to protecting the "capital of sweat and tears" of the people, spreading confidence in the leadership of the Party, the management of the State and the strength of the financial - banking system.

From the results achieved, it can be seen that the work of checking depositors has truly become a "bridge" between BHTGVN and depositors, contributing to the successful implementation of the mission of protecting the legitimate rights of the people, strengthening public trust in the QTDND system and the banking system. In the Northwest region, where there are still many difficulties but rich in development potential, this activity is even more practical, affirming that BHTGVN not only protects people's capital, but also accompanies the sustainable development of the community.

Building dedicated and responsible staff

President Ho Chi Minh always emphasized: "Cadres are the root of all work". The work of reconciling savings deposits seems to be just a technical task, but in reality it is a measure of the mettle, ethics, and style of BHTGVN officers.

Through the comparison work, people realized that the inspection team were not people "looking for errors", but companions, protecting their rights. The dedication, responsibility, concise and easy-to-understand explanations made people more attached and trusting. The inspected QTDNDs also changed their perception: from being worried and hesitant, they now actively cooperated, considering this an opportunity to rectify their activities and increase their reputation with customers.

The local government also acknowledged, appreciated, and spread positive information to the community. That is proof of the application of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in practice: "Close to the people, close to the people, speak so that the people understand, make the people believe".

Mr. Nguyen Thai Minh - Branch Inspector shared: "Traveling on the mountain roads is difficult, there are places where working and living conditions are really difficult, but looking at the reassuring eyes of the people when they know that their deposits are insured, we see that all difficulties are worth it." That is the motivation for each Branch officer in particular and BHTGVN officer in general to make more efforts and be more dedicated to their work.

The above results are vivid evidence of the leadership role of the Branch Party Cell. With the motto "words go hand in hand with actions, do things thoroughly, use results to verify", the Party Cell has linked political tasks with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

Each cadre and party member of the Branch clearly understands their role and contribution in the mission of protecting the interests of depositors, maintaining social stability, and strengthening people's trust in the policies of the Party and the State. The above results are vivid evidence of the leadership role of the Branch Party Cell in performing assigned tasks.

In the coming time, the Branch will continue to focus on training a team of "both red and professional" cadres: Firm in political stance, proficient in professional skills, responsible, dedicated to work and with standards of public ethics. This is also the practical contribution of the Party Cell of the BHTGVN Branch in the Northwest region to the cause of building a clean and strong Party, contributing to building a country with sustainable and powerful development.
