Following the direction of the province and the industry, the Center for Application and Innovation maintains many scientific research topics associated with application models in production and is widely deployed in localities.
The Center is maintaining cell tissue culture technology, preserving and conserving varieties and genetic resources of some valuable plants and microorganisms to serve biodiversity conservation, production and life. Currently, the Center regularly preserves and conserves over 2,000 flasks of plant tissue, medicinal plants, flowers... and preserves 6 strains of microorganisms in the laboratory.
The Center for Application and Innovation maintains cell tissue culture technology, preserves and conserves varieties and gene sources of some crops and microorganisms.
Not only research, many types of plants propagated by tissue culture technology have been transferred by the Center to people and businesses. High quality flowers and precious medicinal plants put into production have proven economic efficiency, creating jobs and stable income for farmers.
The center is researching and producing precious mushroom strains for medicinal purposes such as lingzhi mushrooms, cloud fungus mushrooms, cordyceps... At the same time, launching product lines made from these mushrooms such as: freeze-dried cordyceps, convection-dried cordyceps, sliced lingzhi mushrooms, whole lingzhi mushrooms, morinda wine, cordyceps wine, cloud fungus wine, solanum procumbens extract, nano solanum procumbens, gynostemma pentaphyllum extract, nano gynostemma pentaphyllum... With good quality, eye-catching packaging, reasonable prices, the products receive support from customers and partners.
The center has also built a model for growing and propagating green lim mushrooms in huts at households in Vinh Yen ward and growing green lim mushrooms under the forest canopy in Tam Duong Bac commune.
Model of growing and propagating green lim mushrooms in a shed at a household in Vinh Yen ward.
Having been transferred the technical process of producing green lim mushrooms, Mrs. Tran Thi Sau's family in Vinh Yen ward has invested in building a model in a camp with a scale of 1,000 mushroom bags. With the advantage of harvesting after 2-3 months from creating the embryo, harvesting 3 batches within 1 crop, during the experimental planting phase, Mrs. Sau had a profit of 25 million VND in the first crop. After that success, she continued to expand the model with a scale of 3,000 mushroom bags, expected to reach 3-5 quintals of dried mushrooms with a revenue of 150-250 million VND/crop.
With the goal of sustainable production, providing safe food sources for people, the Center for Application and Innovation has proposed to implement the project "Research on the application of closed-loop Aquaponics technology". This is a system of growing plants using hydroponics combined with aquaculture in a symbiotic environment, aiming at developing safe organic agriculture .
After a trial period, the Aquaponics high-tech agricultural model has had its first results. On average, 1 hectare can grow 7,000 - 8,000 vegetables, fish tanks are arranged depending on the planting area. On average, 3 months, a fish tank can harvest 500 - 1,000 kg. This is a model that saves maximum costs and labor, creating safe, high-yield vegetables. Vegetables are grown in a circulating water environment, without chemicals and fertilizers, and can be kept for 15 - 20 days after harvest. Currently, the Center is piloting this model, moving towards replicating it in the province.
Thanks to the application of science and technology, the province's agricultural sector has gradually developed in a modern and sustainable direction.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan - Deputy Director of the Center for Application and Innovation said: Not only researching and producing vegetables and precious medicinal herbs, the Center also produces biological products for cultivation and animal husbandry such as Trichodema products (preventing fungal diseases, improving soil); ProbioLivest-VP01 products (added to animal feed, helping to reduce environmental pollution and prevent diseases for livestock and poultry)... The products are used effectively in many livestock farms in the area.
Thanks to the application of science and technology, the province's agricultural sector has gradually developed in a modern, sustainable direction, increasing value and always aiming to bring products from research topics closer to consumers.
