This morning, December 12, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong attended and shared the joy in the National Defense Day and the conference to review the work of building the national defense in 2024 in Vinh Tuy ward (Hai Ba Trung district).
Also attending were Major General Nguyen Khac Nhan - Deputy Political Commissar of Hanoi Capital Command; leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Ba Trung District; representatives of cadres and people of Vinh Tuy ward and wards in the district.
Focus on building a strong and comprehensive foundation
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Tuy Ward Luu Xuan Trich said that, thoroughly grasping the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on national defense and military , every year, the Party Committee of the ward has a resolution to lead and direct the implementation of national defense, military and security tasks. The People's Committee of the ward has deployed an implementation plan in which it enhances the advisory role of the Military Command and the Ward Police in leading and directing the implementation of training tasks, drills, competitions, sports, national defense tasks, and building a strong and comprehensive foundation.
The ward focuses on consolidating, innovating, improving the quality and efficiency of the operations of the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations, promoting the combined strength of the entire political system, considering it an important factor to maintain political security and social order and safety (ANCT-TTATXH). At the same time, promoting mass mobilization to promote the people's mastery to effectively participate in the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security of the locality.
Notably, the ward has developed a plan and implemented steps according to regulations to establish a permanent militia squad (operating from January 3, 2025), with its own headquarters with an area of nearly 200 square meters for the ward military command and the permanent militia squad.
This year, the ward has completed 110% of the military enlistment target and the target of participating in training, coaching, and checking the readiness to mobilize reserve soldiers; registering management, technical means of the national economy and citizens of military service age for 425 male citizens.
In carrying out the work of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, the ward always focuses on implementing the "4 on-site" motto well, participating in overcoming the consequences of typhoon Yagi with 420 militia officers and soldiers in coordination with the ward police and self-defense units stationed in the area, promptly overcoming the consequences caused by the storm, stabilizing the situation of security and order and social order in the area, which is highly appreciated by the district leaders.
Firmly and specifically implement the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation
Speaking at the Conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong reviewed the outstanding results in socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the Capital in 2024. At the same time, he emphasized that the organization of the National Defense Day is a very meaningful occasion for cadres, civil servants, armed forces, and people of all walks of life in the Capital to review the tradition of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. This is also an occasion to honor and show gratitude to the armed forces, celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; remember the merits of millions of outstanding children who have fallen for the development of the country today. Along with that, propagandize and educate the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army to all walks of life, especially the young generation.
Affirming that Hanoi always identifies the special importance of national defense and security work and the organization of the National Defense Day, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee commended Hai Ba Trung District in general and Vinh Tuy Ward in particular for always performing well the national defense and security tasks, maintaining stability of security and order in the locality, and paying attention to national defense.
Promoting those results, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested that districts and wards continue to concretize the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation in the spirit of the Resolution of the 8th Central Conference (13th term) "on the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation", in which they correctly perceive the tasks of each level, sector, cadre and people; pay attention to implementing well from the organization to the people and conditions, in order to maintain the military force of the district, especially taking care of the militia and self-defense forces of the wards.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that districts and wards need to especially promote propaganda and dissemination so that cadres, party members and people clearly understand their responsibilities in participating with Party committees, authorities and organizations to ensure security and order right from the grassroots. Not only with major issues of the country, but also with small matters in each alley, party cell and residential group, each citizen must be responsible for participating in implementation; pay attention to the mass movement to protect national security, tasks related to national defense.
"Local officials must constantly grasp the local situation and people's thoughts to promptly detect emerging conflicts and resolve them right at the grassroots level, based on local regulations and village conventions, on the basis of village solidarity, to avoid insecurity and disorder, affecting socio-economic development. To do that requires the commitment and responsibility of grassroots officials, especially in the condition that Vinh Tuy ward has a large population and diverse population, it is even more necessary to focus on resolving newly arising conflicts right at the grassroots level, to ensure security and order, and for people's lives to be truly happy" - the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee clearly stated.
Affirming that Hanoi has a large number of policy families, accounting for 1/10 of the whole country, in recent years, the city has always done a good job of repaying gratitude and the military rear, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also requested Hai Ba Trung District and Vinh Tuy Ward to continue to pay attention to this issue, take good care of the military rear, policy families, cadres, wounded soldiers, etc.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also suggested that the military and police forces in the area promote their leading role in advising the Party Committee and the government on local military work, to build a truly solid, practical and effective national defense posture, people's security, and district and ward defense zones, thereby contributing to arousing and motivating the people's aspiration to rise up and build a civilized, modern and civilized capital.
At the Conference, officials and people of Vinh Tuy ward were honored to receive flowers and gifts from the leaders of the City Party Committee, the Capital Command, and Hai Ba Trung District to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
In particular, the City leaders presented 20 gifts and the Hai Ba Trung District leaders presented 10 gifts to individuals with outstanding revolutionary contributions in Vinh Tuy Ward. At the same time, the ward leaders commended 11 collectives and 10 individuals who made positive contributions to the ward's national defense work in 2024.
