TPO - In May 2014, the Project to invest in building a road surrounding the Chu Van An Memorial Site was started, expected to be completed in 36 months. However, after more than 10 years, the project is still unfinished, in which the "bottleneck" is the site clearance at the intersection of Phan Trong Tue Street.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just requested relevant units to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles for the investment project to build a traffic road surrounding the Chu Van An memorial site (Thanh Tri district). This is a BT (build-transfer) project, approved in 2011, started in 2014 but is still unfinished.

Accordingly, in April 2011, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the project of the road surrounding the Chu Van An Memorial. The project includes a 2.5km main road and a 1.1km secondary road, expected to be completed and put into use in 2014. However, in May 2014, the project was just started with a total investment of 1,475 billion VND, expected to be completed in 36 months. However, up to now, the project is still unfinished.

There are many reasons for the project's delay, such as difficulties in site clearance. In addition, the City People's Committee added the item "Complete intersection between Route 1 and Route 70" (previously the old project only had a direct overpass), the D400 clean water pipeline item and some other items (photo: Large sewer pipes were placed by the construction unit at some locations on the route to prevent cars from moving).

To resolve the difficulties and obstacles of the project, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to urgently guide the People's Committee of Thanh Tri district to implement the land allocation limit in the resettlement area, and report to the city if it exceeds their authority. The People's Committees of Ha Dong district and Thanh Tri district must speed up the progress of site clearance related to the project.

Regarding the Phan Trong Tue intersection (Route 70), Chairman Tran Sy Thanh requested that the problem must be resolved by June 2025 at the latest. It is expected that if the "bottleneck" in the site clearance of the intersection of Highway 70 is resolved, the project will be completed soon.
