Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Cuong said: Power source and grid projects play a "backbone" role in socio -economic development. According to the adjusted Power Plan VIII, there are currently 5 types of power source projects in the province, including: gas power, hydropower, solar power, waste power and biomass power.
However, the implementation of these projects still faces some difficulties and obstacles. Specifically, many projects are slow to invest and operate compared to the plan; the newly added solar power project has not been updated in the provincial planning, so there is no legal basis for implementation. In addition, in the initial phase of implementing the 2-level local government model, the People's Committees of wards and communes must review and adjust land use planning and construction planning, including updating electricity projects accordingly, affecting the implementation progress.

Regarding transmission projects under the adjusted Power Plan VIII, 2 projects have been completed and energized; 1 project has commenced construction; 5 projects are carrying out site clearance compensation; 3 projects are about to be deployed.
