Within the framework of the 2025 FIATA World Congress (FWC), Vietnam SuperPort's booth welcomed FIATA President Turgut Erkeskin and representatives of the world's leading associations and businesses.

Here, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort, introduced the plan to operate an extended air cargo warehouse (OACT) - a strategic link in the multimodal supply chain that will be launched soon.

The region's leading integrated air cargo warehouse

With a strategic location on the Northern economic corridor, connecting more than 20 industrial parks with major seaports and airports such as Noi Bai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and extending to Yunnan, Kunming (China), OACT not only promotes the flow of goods between Vietnam and the China - ASEAN region but also directly connects with the network of international airlines and key markets such as the US, Europe, and Asia.

This is one of the first long-haul air cargo warehouses in Vietnam that pioneers in fully integrating functions as an "outside airport cargo terminal", including: customs clearance, security screening, storage, loading and unloading of ULDs (unloading equipment), transportation to the airport...

Here, goods will be handled according to strict security control procedures by 24/7 CCTV system, aviation security and customs from the reception stage until transportation to the plane.

With a total area of over 11,000m2 and a cargo handling capacity of about 50,000 tons/year, OACT is built and equipped with modern facilities according to international standards, capable of receiving, storing and handling large volumes of goods from many businesses and carriers from demanding markets such as the US and Europe.

According to Mr. Yap Kwong Weng, OACT is an important component of the Vietnam SuperPort multimodal logistics center developed according to the “Park within a Park” model - integrating all modes of transportation including rail, road, sea, and air into one center. Thanks to that, businesses can flexibly change the mode of transportation to suit their needs, optimizing time and transportation costs.

Along with connectivity and operational capacity, Vietnam SuperPort also introduced a plan to develop OACT into a modern, smart cargo terminal, applying technological advances: AI, Robotics...

Specifically, Vietnam SuperPort has cooperated with Google and Kyndryl to research and develop a new generation of AI integrated into security screening machines to detect prohibited and dangerous goods, and at the same time, apply AI in automatically authenticating cargo documents to enhance safety and security.

In addition, with the support of the Singapore Agency for Science , Technology and Research (A*STAR), Vietnam SuperPort is researching automated guided vehicles (AGV), robot loaders, and autonomous mobile robots (AMR) to automate the entire logistics process, expected to increase operational productivity by up to 35% while reducing error rates by 50%.

Key to regional connectivity and resilience

In the long-term vision, OACT moves towards comprehensive digitalization, creating an integrated logistics platform, allowing businesses to track, manage and book services online on a single system - from customs declaration, security control to electronic payment.

This is an important step towards building a comprehensive digital aviation supply chain, connecting Vietnam with the smart logistics network of the ASEAN region and the world.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, shared: “Vietnam SuperPortTM represents the shared vision of YCH Group and T&T Group in building a smarter, greener and more connected supply chain for the region.

OACT is not only a logistics infrastructure, but also a driving force contributing to strengthening Vietnam's role as a trade and innovation hub in the ASEAN region and internationally."

With the development motto "Connected - Smart - Sustainable", OACT not only undertakes the function of storing and processing goods but is also oriented to become a strategic bridge, contributing to improving integration capacity, optimizing logistics costs and expanding international trade opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises.

In terms of efficiency, the OACT model is expected to bring many important competitive advantages to import-export enterprises and the aviation logistics chain, improve service quality, contribute to reducing congestion and pressure on the cargo terminal at the airport, improve operational flow and facilitate flight routes and cargo flows.

“OACT is not just a long-term warehouse, but will become a symbol of Vietnam’s vision of smart and sustainable connectivity. We aim to build a new generation logistics center where technology, infrastructure and people together create a new driving force for global trade,” emphasized the CEO of Vietnam SuperPort.

Previously, at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2025 (VIIE 2025), Vietnam SuperPort also introduced to the public many breakthrough and modern technological solutions to improve the efficiency of the logistics system, making Vietnam a strategic link in the global supply chain.

Vietnam SuperPort's continued introduction and preparation for official operation of the OACT extended-airport warehouse once again affirms its strategic vision in digitizing logistics to build a smart, efficient and sustainable connected ecosystem for Vietnam and the region.

Vietnam SuperPort is a multimodal logistics port with an area of up to 83 hectares and a total investment of 300 million USD located in Phu Tho province. This is a strategic joint venture between YCH Group, a leading supply chain solution provider from Singapore with nearly 70 years of leading experience in the industry, and T&T Group (Vietnam) - one of the leading multi-industry private economic groups in Vietnam.

Vietnam SuperPort aims to enhance Vietnam’s integration into the global supply chain, reduce logistics costs and enhance the country’s competitive advantage in international trade. With the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2040, Vietnam SuperPort is positioned to become the leading green and connected logistics hub in Southeast Asia.

FIATA World Congress is the leading annual event in the global logistics industry, held in Vietnam for the first time.

With the theme “Green Logistics, Rapid Adaptation”, the event aims to promote green transformation, enhance supply chain adaptability and affirm the role of logistics in sustainable development.
