Update the school year 2025-2026 schedule for students in 34 provinces and cities

The 2025-2026 school year schedule prioritizes time for first and last grade students.

In preparation for the 2025-2026 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a time frame, allowing schools to organize the school opening ceremony as early as 7 days before the scheduled opening ceremony (August 29). In particular, students in the first grade (grade 1), final grade (grade 12) and grade 9 will have a longer preparation time with the school opening schedule two weeks earlier, starting from August 22.

Localities have made specific adjustments to the school start date. In Ho Chi Minh City, students in grades 1, 9, and 12 will start school on August 20, while other grades will start on August 25. Similarly, many provinces such as Khanh Hoa and Lao Cai also set August 20 for students in grades 1, 9, and 12 and August 27 for the remaining grades. Some other provinces such as An Giang, Hung Yen, and Quang Ngai chose August 22 as the start date for first and last grade students, while all students will officially start school on August 29. This adjustment is to create the best conditions for students, especially those in the transition and final stages of school, to have more time to settle down and get used to the new learning environment.
