Commenting on the program "Monday Night Football" on September 29, Carragher said that the MU leadership is trying to prolong the time without firing Amorim. The former Liverpool defender analyzed: "Amorim is still in office only because the MU leaders have made so many mistakes that they do not want to admit another wrong decision. This is a disaster for both the club and Amorim."

According to Carragher, what Amorim did at Sporting Lisbon cannot be applied similarly to the Premier League. “His system does not fit the DNA of MU. A decision on Amorim's future should be made as soon as possible, that will be good for both sides,” the former player added.

A 1-3 defeat to Brentford on September 27th left MU in 14th place in the table. Last season, Amorim made the "Red Devils" fall to 15th place - the club's worst performance in the Premier League era.

Carragher continued to stress that the responsibility lies with the MU board, who brought Amorim in despite knowing that he has always been loyal to the three-back formation. “Asking him to change the system is like asking Jurgen Klopp to stop gegen-pressing or Pep Guardiola to stop playing short balls. They know he will not change his philosophy,” Carragher concluded.

MU will face Sunderland on October 4, before visiting Liverpool at Anfield on October 19.

2 goals help MU defeat Chelsea On the night of September 20, MU struggled to defeat Chelsea 2-1 at home in the highlight match of round 5 of the Premier League thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
