England fans beg UEFA not to ban hero Bellingham from EURO 2024 quarter-finals

However, Bellingham now faces a possible suspension after what was seen as an inappropriate and somewhat insulting action against his opponent.

It has been suggested that Bellingham may have breached article 11.2b on player conduct. A UEFA spokesman said: "The UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectorate will be investigating a potential breach of the fundamental rules of conduct by the player Jude Bellingham. Further information on this matter will be made public in due course."
