On the afternoon of September 19, the final round of Group A - National U17 Tournament took place. Against Da Nang , CAHN entered the match with a must-win position. However, Da Nang only needed a draw, so the first half was played with CAHN's initiative and dominance.
In the beginning of the second half, Da Nang increased the speed of the match. In the 49th minute, the representative of the Central region was the team to break the deadlock. In a chaotic situation in the CAHN goal area, Xuan Phuc rushed in to score a goal for the home team.
Being pushed into a difficult position, CAHN continued to attack. In the 69th minute, Minh Dat dribbled the ball strongly from the middle of the field, opened the ball to the left wing for Long Nhat to dribble and shoot diagonally, equalizing 1-1.
Da Nang then pushed up their attack, helping to reduce the pressure on their own goal. But in the last minute of extra time, Anh Luc rushed up from the second line, fired an accurate shot, scoring the final goal 2-1 for Da Nang, causing CAHN to lose their ticket to the next round.
In the remaining match of Group A, U17 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club and Nam Dinh held each other to a 0-0 draw in favor of the home team.
At the end of the group stage, U17SHB Da Nang led group A with 6 points, U17 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club ranked second with 5 points, U17 Nam Dinh Blue Steel ranked third with 4 points and U17 Hanoi Police ranked last with 1 point.
Along with the results in groups B and C, the list of 8 teams that made it to the quarterfinals includes: U17 SHB Da Nang, U17 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, U17 Nam Dinh Blue Steel, U17 SLNA, U17 Ha Noi, U17 PVF-CAND, U17 The Cong Viettel and U17 An Giang. In which, U17 An Giang won the third place thanks to being better than U17 Becamex TP HCM in terms of goals scored (5 compared to 1) even though they both have 3 points and a goal difference of -5.
The quarter-finals will take place on September 22, with the following matches: Da Nang - An Giang, SLNA - Nam Dinh, PVF-CAND - Hanoi (all at 3 p.m.) and Ho Chi Minh City Football Club - The Cong Viettel (5 p.m.).
