'Portrait' of a teacher of a happy school

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, I would like to share some thoughts on the teaching profession in the new era and the journey of building happy schools as proposed by the education sector.

Always dream

Teachers must always have dreams for themselves, ambitions for their children, family, and cherish a career of a hundred years. This helps teachers listen with a sincere heart, create useful lessons and experiences, and help students progress through each educational activity. After school, when returning home, teachers should put their worries aside and be at peace with their loved ones.

Self-study, self-study, self-study!

Life is always moving, strong digital transformation requires teachers to learn anytime, anywhere. Teachers must hone their professional skills to meet the requirements of the program, helping students to gradually improve themselves. Teachers must be diligent in self-study to set an example for students.

For example, if a physics teacher is good at math, he will teach much better; if he has a good command of English, the lectures will be more interesting; if he teaches physics, he will learn more about chemistry, the integrated lectures will be more profound; if he teaches physics, he will have a "little" poetry and literature, then he will introduce and raise the problem, attracting students right from the "parking lot"... If so, students participating in the class will become happier and the self-study process will be the journey of a happy school.

Lecture innovation

Teachers should not be satisfied with old lectures, not stop at textbook knowledge; need to master the subject program, renew lectures.

Each lesson cannot be attractive from A to Z. However, there should be one or two details (in the lecture) that are the "soul" of the cooperation between teachers and students. For example, teachers can renew the way of posing problems, add interesting questions to old math problems, a story, a game, a folk song, a love poem for students, a filial example, an unexpected situation... A happy school is within the reach of teachers!

Understanding students

By understanding the circumstances and temperaments of the students in their class, teachers can have the right and appropriate measures for each student. From there, teachers can assign tasks, ask questions, and give praise and criticism so that students always feel cared for and respected by the teacher.

To make students always active, dynamic, and self-motivated in learning requires great effort from teachers. Therefore, teachers need to be close to and listen to students as if they were their own children so that the classroom becomes a second home, a happy corner in a happy school.

Cooperation and sharing

During activities (professional groups, teams, pedagogical councils) at school, teachers "please sit down here", share the advantages and difficulties of their teammates... Teachers can frankly and skillfully discuss issues through professional activities, group activities and even "after-dinner tea and wine".

Cultivating teachers, let's start from a collective living of altruism, honesty, and solidarity. Change every day, just a little, just like that, like the heart wavering on a calm lake, spreading waves of happiness to teachers, students, and parents.

Exercise

Teaching is a hard work, requiring teachers to have good health and a cheerful spirit. Depending on conditions, circumstances, and interests, teachers choose the method and training regimen and persistently practice it every day. Health is a necessary condition for teachers to be happy, thereby actively participating in school activities, controlling emotions when encountering naughty students, getting along with colleagues, and being friendly with parents. A happy school starts with teachers practicing good health!

Pride in teaching

Despite the ups and downs, the "bitter" stories of overcharging, rampant extra teaching and learning..., many teachers are still devoted to their students. Not to mention, there are many devoted parents, many shining examples of studious students... continuing the noble tradition of respecting teachers. As a truth, the country is filled with joy when each teacher is competent, responsible, loves the profession, and loves people.

The mission of education is noble, we as educators have the right to be proud, that is always true. Pride helps teachers to be steadfast in their journey to build happy schools.

Teachers train themselves, education changes, everyone agrees, the whole country cares for education, then there will be happy schools.
