Upon receiving the news, the Ia Gra District Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Ia Pech Commune People's Committee to mobilize 40 people to participate in fire fighting. However, due to the large and fast fire, strong winds that were difficult to control, it was not until 5:00 p.m. the same day that the fire was contained and completely extinguished.
Through inspection, the authorities determined that nearly 25 hectares of acacia hybrid that had not yet become a forest were burned. The entire area was planted by 4 households in Ia Din commune (Duc Co district), with 100% damage to the crops that could not be recovered. The entire acacia area was planted in 2021 and 2022.
Immediately after the fire, the People's Committee of Ia Grai district directed the District Forest Protection Department to preside over and coordinate with the District Police, the District People's Procuracy, the People's Committee of Ia Pech commune and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Gia Lai Provincial Police to investigate and determine the cause of the fire and the value of damage.
At the same time, the district also directed the People's Committee of Ia Pech commune to request households whose unforested planted areas were burned to replant in the 2024 rainy season and households with planted forest areas to implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures.
