The Christmas tree is an important highlight in the system of works welcoming Christmas this year of the Dong Yen parishioners, made from 1,400 bamboo trees.

Mr. Ho Ngoc Van, Head of the Dong Yen parish's Executive Committee, said that the materials were purchased from mountainous areas, then cleaned, cut into pieces and meticulously assembled with flexible steel wire to create the shape of a pine tree.

“The Christmas tree is designed with 3 floors, 22m high, the bottom base has a diameter of 8m. To make this unique tree, more than 30 people worked every day, for nearly a month. People can go around the tower of the tree to observe below and around,” Mr. Van shared.

The path up and down the pine tree is 2m wide and paved with very sturdy bamboo panels.

Bamboo is cut into pieces about 10cm long, holes are punched through the nodes, and they are tied together into large pieces.
