2025 National Shooting Championship explodes with 9 new records

After 13 days of exciting competition (September 20 - October 2), the tournament ended with many professional marks. Nearly 300 athletes from 13 delegations from 12 units across the country competed in 33 events, ranging from pistols, rifles to Trap, Skeet and Compak Sporting flying disc shooting.

At the end of the tournament, 57 sets of medals were awarded, including 57 gold medals, 57 silver medals and 59 bronze medals. Notably, 9 new national records were set, reflecting the development in skill and mettle of the shooters.

The outstanding faces of the tournament include Ha Minh Thanh (Army team) with 5 gold medals, including 3 individual and 2 team events; Hoang Thi Tuat ( Hanoi ) with 5 gold medals, including 2 individual and 3 team events; and Le Nghia (Hanoi) also won all 5 gold medals with similar achievements.

In the overall ranking, Hanoi affirmed its number one position by winning 22 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 14 bronze medals. The Army ranked second with 15 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 12 bronze medals, while Ho Chi Minh City ranked third with 9 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 14 bronze medals.

This year's tournament took place in particularly harsh weather conditions due to the impact of storm No. 10. Prolonged heavy rain, thunderstorms and flooding directly affected the shooting range, causing damage to many technical equipment, targets and targets, and limiting the athletes' visibility.

However, the shooters still showed their steely spirit with the motto “Overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain”, trying their best in all circumstances. The series of bullets fired in the wind and rain not only brought professional results but also clearly depicted the bravery, resilience and sense of responsibility of the Vietnamese shooters.

A representative of the Vietnam Shooting Federation said that 2025 marks the fifth consecutive time hosting the national championship with socialized funding, with the persistent support of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group ( Petrovietnam ). This cooperation has created conditions for the tournament to become increasingly professional and become a prestigious playground in the country's high-performance shooting competition system.

At the end of the tournament, the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Shooting Federation will form a 73-member delegation, including officials, coaches and athletes, to attend the 47th Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA) in Thailand next October. The delegation will compete in pistol, rifle and flying disc events.

In addition, in December 2025, the Vietnam Shooting team with 35 members will continue to participate in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, also held in Thailand, with the goal of winning more medals in the pistol, rifle and Trap, Skeet, and Compak Sporting shooting events.
