Investor responds to damage on La Son - Hoa Lien highway

DNO - On October 10, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board - the investor of the Ho Chi Minh Road expansion project, La Son - Hoa Lien section, said that the road surface structure of this section was affected and locally damaged in some locations due to prolonged heavy rains caused by storm No. 10 (Bualoi).

On October 10, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board - the investor of the Ho Chi Minh Road expansion project, La Son - Hoa Lien section, said that it had just received reports from the press and documents from Road Management Area III regarding the content "The surface of the La Son - Hoa Lien highway through Da Nang is damaged and peeling after a short period of operation".

Responding to the above information, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the road surface structure was impacted and locally damaged in some locations due to prolonged heavy rains caused by storm No. 10 (Bualoi).

Besides, during the construction process, the large volume of vehicles and equipment moving regularly on the route also affects the quality of the road surface.

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board is directly coordinating with the supervision consultant and construction contractors to review and repair all road surface damage, ensuring traffic safety on the road that is both under construction and in operation.

The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that traffic safety is always of special concern to the unit. The unit regularly requires contractors to comply with approved construction measures, traffic safety assurance and recommendations of relevant units during project implementation.

Since the project was implemented, contractors have proactively mobilized specialized human resources and equipment for regular maintenance, timely repair and repair of damage on the road surface.

The La Son - Hoa Lien section expansion project has a total length of 65km through Hue city and Da Nang city with a total investment of more than 3,000 billion VND, starting construction in May 2025.

The project aims to upgrade the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway to 4 lanes with a width of 22m and a design speed of 60 - 80 km/h. Thereby improving the route's operational capacity, ensuring traffic safety and promoting the role of the eastern North - South expressway in regional and national connectivity.
