According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Ham Yen district, at about 10:30 a.m. on December 12, 2024, during the construction of a house for Mr. Ly Tien Dung's household (a resettled household of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project), a hole about 3.5 m deep and about 6 m2 wide was discovered. About 30 m from the subsidence location in the resettlement residential area, a crack about 4 m long across the concrete road was discovered. Currently, there are no human casualties; 1 house of a household under construction has subsided on the floor, with no structural impact.

The resettlement residential area of ​​Bua - Nghieu village is planned into 48 plots of land, divided into 3 areas: CL1 area (23 plots), CL2 area (24 plots), CL3 area (1 plot). The subsidence location is on a plot of land in CL1-plot 4 of Mr. Ly Tien Dung's household.

Inspecting and inquiring about the subsidence situation of Mr. Ly Tien Dung's household, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son requested the local authorities to continue to closely monitor the subsidence; requested households to temporarily stop construction, implement measures to ensure safety for people, and arrange staff to closely monitor.
