Series of activities towards Book Day and Reading Culture

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024. According to the plan, there are 6 main contents to be implemented towards this activity in April.

Cool and spacious reading space at the Provincial Library.

Specifically, propagating and disseminating Decision No. 1862/QD-TTg and a series of activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on promoting innovation in library activities in building and developing reading skills, accessing and processing information for children; organizing Reading Culture Festival, donating bookcases and books to schools in disadvantaged communes; organizing Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the system of schools, libraries and agencies, units and localities; customer appreciation month, book distribution month, hanging banners promoting Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day at headquarters, stores and bookstores in the province.

The Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments, agencies, and media agencies to mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers to participate in activities responding to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province. In addition, the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities directed the Department of Culture and Information, the Department of Education and Training, and the Youth Union to coordinate in organizing response activities; build billboards, slogans, and loudspeakers to promote and propagate the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.

Create a habit for children to be close to and love books from an early age.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024 is an activity to affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community... This is also an occasion to honor readers, creators, publishers, printers, distributors, libraries, book keepers, collectors, promoters and organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of reading culture in the community. Enhance the responsibility of all levels, sectors, functional agencies and social organizations for building and developing Vietnam's reading culture in social life.
