Many exciting performances by students of Hoa Lu Primary School at the opening ceremony of the Friendly Library.

The friendly library was established with the aim of forming reading habits for students through developing reading and writing skills, educating life skills, and contributing to improving the quality of learning in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities. This is not only a place to store books but also a creative learning space, healthy entertainment, opening up opportunities for students to access knowledge in a lively and close way.

At Hoa Lu Primary School's Friendly Library , students will be able to participate in many rich activities such as: reading books on the spot, borrowing books to take home, writing and drawing from books, looking up information, playing learning games, participating in Book Festival and regular library reading sessions. The space is arranged in a friendly and close way to students, helping them to be more interested in reading and learning.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, noted that the establishment of libraries needs to be flexible, creative, and suitable to the conditions and actual situation of each school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ba Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Head of the Provincial Friendly Library Coordination Board, said: "Up to now, in the Bac Lieu area (formerly), there are 36 schools participating in the Friendly Library program, of which 21 schools provide direct support, 15 schools provide technical support with a total support amount of more than 3.2 billion VND".

“Implement the process of establishing a friendly library according to the instructions of Room to Read experts. The establishment of the library needs to be flexible, creative, and suitable to the conditions and actual situation of each school. Continue to invest in facilities, add books, newspapers, and magazines; organize reading activities and promote reading to build a reading culture in schools, families, and communities; build capacity, maintain, and sustainably develop the library. Encourage and call for the joint efforts of the community, parents, and sponsors so that the library can increasingly develop and operate effectively,” Mr. Nguyen Ba Long noted.

Delegates performed the ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Friendly Library.

Right after the opening ceremony, delegates and students visited and experienced the library's reading space, where knowledge is inspired and passion for reading is nurtured.
