The Central Newspaper Reporters Club in Hoa Binh province organized eye examinations and provided free medicine to people.

The program is divided into several phases. Phase 1 of the program takes place from October 26 to November 6, 2023, in Vu Binh, Van Nghia, Quyet Thang communes and Vu Ban town. Doctor Nguyen Van Thanh - Professional Director of Hoa Lu Eye Hospital said: This is one of the programs in the chain of humanitarian and social security activities in 2023 of Hoa Lu Eye Hospital.

The examination includes: General examination, fundus examination, screening for eye diseases such as: Pterygium, entropion, cataract, glaucoma. Through humanitarian examinations, many eye diseases can be screened and detected, contributing to timely diagnosis and treatment, bringing light to the people.

In addition to free examinations, the program also gives eye supplements to all people who come for examinations. For cases with eye diseases, the team of doctors will advise and guide treatment at reputable specialized hospitals. The humanitarian program of the Central Newspaper Reporters Club and Hoa Lu Eye Hospital received the attention and support of the Department of Health of Hoa Binh , the People's Committee of Lac Son District and the response of many people in Lac Son District.

Mr. Bui Van Duong - Vice Chairman of Lac Son District People's Committee said that the district approved the proposal of the Central Newspaper Reporters Club in Hoa Binh province and Hoa Lu Eye Hospital in Ninh Binh province on humanitarian eye examination, provision and distribution of free medicine for the elderly, poor households and policy beneficiaries in Lac Son district. Before implementing the first phase, the Department of Health of Hoa Binh province had assessed the documents and issued legal procedures according to Circular 30/2014/TT-BYT dated August 28, 2014 of the Ministry of Health . This is the first time Lac Son people have had access to an Ophthalmology hospital with many modern machines and technologies, plus a team of young, enthusiastic doctors, the people are very happy and excited. The results of examination for over 1,000 people, free medicine worth over 200 million VND.

With that humanitarian meaning, in the coming time, Lac Son District People's Committee hopes to receive the attention of Hoa Lu Ninh Binh Eye Hospital and the Central Newspaper Reporters Club in Hoa Binh and especially the permission of the Department of Health of Hoa Binh province, in the coming time, free eye examination will be deployed to all the remaining communes so that policy beneficiaries, the elderly, and people in difficult circumstances with eye diseases can access the examination and consultation services for early detection of eye diseases, timely treatment, bringing light and health to the elderly and the disadvantaged in Lac Son district.
