Police are investigating the case of a 2-year-old boy who mysteriously disappeared and was just found.

On December 3, Dan Tri reporter's private source learned that the Hoang Mai Town Police, Nghe An, are continuing to investigate the case of a 2-year-old boy who mysteriously disappeared in the area.

Hoang Mai town police have reviewed dozens of cameras in the town to clarify the cause of the case of a 2-year-old boy in Quynh Xuan ward who was found 3 days after he went missing.

"Before, during and after the incident of the 2-year-old boy in Quynh Xuan ward mysteriously disappearing, we extracted all security cameras in the town and along Highway 1A to search for the culprit. However, up to this point, there have been no further clues. The provincial police are directing the investigation of this case...", the source said.

Hoang Mai town police also warned local people not to fabricate information about the missing child Doan Phuc An, as it is not good to cause public panic.

"In the past few days, there has been some information that the child was kidnapped and fell into a watery abyss, which is not true," the source added.

As Dan Tri newspaper reported, at around 3:00 p.m. on November 29, Doan Phuc An followed his 8-year-old brother to the gate to throw out the trash and then mysteriously disappeared.

Hoang Mai town police mobilized forces, coordinated with local authorities, organizations, people and families to search day and night. At the same time, the police mobilized sniffer dogs to assist in the search for the child.

At around 8:25 a.m. on December 2, baby An was found on a hill, about 200 meters from his house. Many relatives and neighbors were present at the house of Mr. Doan Van Luc (32 years old, baby An's father) to congratulate and visit the family and to see that baby An returned safely.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy (43 years old, An's cousin) was one of the people who discovered An. She said: "He was sitting in the ditch, not very dirty, quite conscious but a bit panicked and crying. We called the family to inform them, then took him home, warmed him up, gave him milk and reported to the authorities."

At the time of finding, An was not wearing pants; his arms and legs had minor scratches. An was taken to the Quynh Xuan Ward Health Station for examination. Then, he was taken to a higher level hospital for a general examination.

Hoang Mai Town Police have worked and taken statements from a number of people; at the same time, they are continuing to consolidate information and expand the investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Phuc An.

Nghe An Provincial Police directed Hoang Mai Town Police to continue to clarify this case.
