(CT) - On August 7, at the Office of Agricultural and Rural Coordination of the Mekong Delta in Can Tho City, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MARD) held a conference to announce and hand over the decision to transfer and appoint the Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center. At the conference, the National Agricultural Extension Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment announced Decision No. 2955/QD-BNNMT dated July 31, 2025 of Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang on the transfer and appointment of management officials. Accordingly, Ms. Huynh Kim Dinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, was temporarily transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam had a working session with leaders of the National Agricultural Extension Center and officers and civil servants at the Office of Agricultural and Rural Coordination in the Mekong Delta region on the implementation of agricultural extension tasks from now until the end of 2025 and the activities of the Office of Agricultural and Rural Coordination in the Mekong Delta region.

According to the National Agricultural Extension Center, in the coming time, the unit will establish a Regional Agricultural Extension Center in the Mekong Delta and take over the functions and tasks of the Office for Agricultural and Rural Coordination in the Mekong Delta under the Steering Committee for Agricultural and Rural Development in the Mekong Delta, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. In addition, the National Agricultural Extension Center also promotes the establishment of an Agricultural Experts Club in the Mekong Delta to mobilize experts, scientists , businesses and enthusiastic people to contribute their intelligence and initiatives to strengthen agricultural extension work and promote agricultural and rural development...

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam emphasized that the establishment of this center is very necessary because this is a key agricultural production area of ​​the whole country. At the same time, it is necessary to urgently complete the procedures to receive the Office of Agricultural and Rural Coordination in the Mekong Delta region to the Center for Agricultural Extension in the Mekong Delta region, complete the apparatus, develop and submit to the Ministry for promulgation of regulations on organization and operation. In addition, promote the early establishment of the Club of Agricultural Experts in the Mekong Delta region. It is expected that the Office of Agricultural and Rural Coordination in the Mekong Delta region, in addition to performing the functions and tasks of the Center for Agricultural Extension, will also undertake the functions and tasks assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. This place is also the address to connect and organize the activities of the Club of Agricultural Experts in the Mekong Delta region.
