Elia's supercar has a deformed front end.

According to police, Elia’s £270,000 Lamborghini Urus collided with two other cars at around 10pm. Although the vehicles were badly damaged, with Elia’s supercar almost completely destroyed, fortunately no one was seriously injured. However, the two drivers involved were taken to the police station for questioning and alcohol testing.

Elia was also detained by the police for questioning. In an interview with Omroep West , the 38-year-old former player recounted the terrifying moment: "I was driving on a road that was very deserted at that time. Suddenly, the cars in front braked suddenly, I also braked but the car skidded and lost control. Everything happened so fast."

After being questioned, Elia said he had returned home. Dutch police are still investigating the cause of the incident, in which the possibility of alcohol being a factor is being considered.

Elia was a bright talent in Dutch football. He played for Juventus, Feyenoord, FC Twente, Werder Bremen and Southampton. Elia scored 2 goals in 17 Premier League games in the 2014/15 season. At the national team level, he had 30 caps for the Netherlands.

Elia retired in 2022 after a cruciate ligament injury. He now lives with his wife, Sanne Elia, owner of the hair care brand Heavenly Beauty, and their three children, Heavenly, Seal and Eljero Dream.
