Overcoming the situation of sloppy construction on inter-commune roads

Speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Director of the Hai Hau District Construction Investment Project Management Board (referred to as the Management Board) said that after the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper, the Management Board inspected, criticized, and at the same time requested the contractor implementing the project to upgrade the Hai Phu - Hai Ninh inter-commune road to fix it.

The sewer pipes have been neatly arranged by the contractor, with warning posts and ropes stretched at dangerous points for people to use.

At the construction sites of the project to renovate and upgrade the inter-commune road in Hai Phu and Hai Ninh communes, poles have been planted, reflective tape has been stretched, and traffic signs have been added to ensure traffic safety.

Specifically, the Management Board requested the contractor, Thanh An Construction Company Ltd., to arrange adequate signs and barriers within the construction area and not cause traffic congestion.

At the same time, it is required that the construction organization must be quick and complete in each section and each item, avoiding prolonged construction.

When stopping construction, it is necessary to clean up materials and equipment, restore the foundation and road surface, gather machinery in the yard according to regulations, and be responsible for on-duty work and traffic safety.

The management board has regularly inspected the contractor's construction process with the determination to avoid any problems that would upset the people.

After receiving feedback from Giao Thong Newspaper, the construction unit has fixed and strengthened traffic safety at the project construction site.

According to Giao thong Newspaper's reporter on March 4, traffic safety work at this project has been carried out quite fully. At the construction sites, there are always supervisory consultants on duty to direct the construction with the contractor.

Mr. Pham Van Bich, Director of Thanh An Construction Company Limited, said that before the project was implemented, all construction sites were staked and had reflective tape stretched, and all construction sections had full traffic signs as required. The project also encountered difficulties with the site, construction was carried out as soon as it was cleared, and the unfavorable weather conditions made it inevitable that there would be problems.

According to Mr. Bich, due to the nature of the project, which is both under construction and in operation, and some traffic participants having broken all the reflective wires and knocked down traffic cones, the situation as reported by Giao Thong Newspaper occurred.

"The contractor has proactively fixed the problem and increased traffic safety," said Mr. Bich.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luyen, Vice Chairman of Hai Ninh Commune People's Committee, said that after the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper, as a local state management agency, he regularly inspected and gave opinions to the Project Management Board and contractors to carry out traffic safety work in accordance with regulations.

"Currently, after the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper, the contractor of the project to renovate the inter-commune road of Phu Ninh and Hai Ninh has increased traffic safety work at the project site," said Mr. Luyen.

The contractor has cleaned up and installed traffic safety signs on the road under construction.
